well as some of you may know, oct 2004 i lost my first cav to an incident with a tahoe (it was like my high school football team versus the steelers or something like that) Anyways, i got a @!#$box escort wagon after that, and as some of you know, that crapped out on me on the mass pike at 70 mph a couple months ago (timing belts are teh gay on those cars). So for 2 months i drove my dads car around, which i didnt mind, until this past couple weeks when it was decided i should actually get my own car instead of waiting to find a better job (many interviews, no hires) ANYWAYS, enough of the story, today i picked up a 96 2.2l 4spd auto cavalier coupe as my next car. And now onto the pics.
shot from the window in my bedroom
front shot
dark side shot because of the sun
rear quarter shot
ass shot
now the interesting thing about this car is that it came with:
power locks
power windows
cruise control (and of course traction control)
and only had less than 72000 miles!
BUT, and heres what i found odd, no ac??
it did come with a JVC headunit installed by the previous owner
but my seatbelt and airbag lights come on because of the install (at least thats what i think its from who knows)
and if anyone asks, no, i dont know what the little red light thing is on my dash
and yes i know it needs to be cleaned, in and out, thoroughly
i plan on getting some interior pieces to fix some of the ones that are in there now, and hopefully some new seats too, cuz the passenger one is pretty wobbly
i dont know what ill do for mods tho, prolly not a whole lot right now, i have other plans that are more important
good find
have fun startin over on a pos.
Good color choice.
Bad motor choice.
I believe the no A/C deal is dealing with where the car might have been located possibly, as I know my buddys Cavalier didnt have a rear defroster and I believe it came from Florida, and we are in Illinois.
no offense bro but i hope you didnt pay more than 500 dollars for that
well i didnt really have an option on the motor choice
it was what i could get/afford
it was only 1700 bucks
and i do really like the color
its mainly an a to b car
its got a lot more power than my old escort tho as sad as that is haha

none taken
but its hard to find ANY car here for 500 bucks that runs and doesnt need some major work
this car is a bit worn on the inside, but for the most part, is in very good shape
well that light on your dash was probably for an alarm
The little red light on your dash is more than likely the "active alarm" LED from an alarm that was installed on it.
i figured as much, but i dont think there is one on there anymore, so now it just sits there
thats cool bro, good luck with it!
no offense, but i have never seen a car like that
very nice find
your air bag light is probably on because the computer under the seat not being pluged in... same for the seat belt light.
pull out the seats and see if the wire underneath the driver seat is connected to the seat/seat belt and check the airbag computer. Could be a fuse for the air bag, or just a plug not connected on the front bumper.
its a nice buy, regardless to what people say.
its funny that it don't have A/C... but the paint/body appear to be in great taste
...

You act like the car is a POS. It look pretty good from the pics. I dunno about your area but a decent cavalier/sunfire around here goes for ATLEAST 2-2500 bucks, and the mileage isnt as low as his. We all drive POS econo boxes. The only difference is you pay on yours

it a nice little econobox sure, but i dont know, it has potential but needs a lot of work to be something that i would like, and actually the price you paid would be pretty good, i shot a little low with the 500 dollar mark.
and yes i do pay on mine, but IMO there is a HUGE difference between my car and his, which isnt neccesarily good or bad
I don't care what anyone says... 1700 for a '96 with less than 72k on the clock (averaging less than 7500 miles per year), damn nice find.
-- straight body, just needs a little cleaning up...
Odd about the no A/C though. You'd think that with all the rest of the options that they got on there...
nice find, now get to work on her she needs some accesories!!

Hmm... Built Eco w/ 5-spd, maybe boost, drop, maybe leave the hubcaps & stock exterior for a nice sleeper look
Nice find
lol, sure! if you wanna fit the bill haha
honestly, if i do mod this car, itll be mild and itll take time
for now the most ill do is a drop and fix up the interior parts that need it, maybe one or two cosmetic things, nothing major
money is tight, and, after all, its just a cavalier
lol
If I had that kinda money, my car would be done already
Nice new sig BTW
