I've been doing alot of thinking lately..... to put it bluntly, my cavalier has turned to crap. Thats what happens when it was a daily driver and I didnt fully take care of it like i should have. In light of that I was thinking of selling it and I had my mind set on getting a used GTP for my next project. The cavalier has a whole list of problems. The TCC solenoid is burnt out of the transmission, and the header downpipe is cracked and the exhaust sounds and rattles like hell. The body has gotton to be in pretty bad condition. Those are some of the main problems with the car.
Well, I drove it this past week and you know what, I can't get rid of it.... I have so many good memories in this car and it has way to much sentimental value. Although I'm not at all happy the way it sits right now..........
Sure, it looks like its in good condition.... but anyway...... I've decided I'm going to go ahead with the motor swap, whether it kills me or not, I'm going to do it. Secondly, the whole exterior is going to get a makeover. The one thing I do like about it now is the widebody. I think if i tie it into the doors like mulls car, and reshape the rear end of it to accomodate the brickyard spoiler to make it all look like one piece, i think it would look badass. I also want to change the bodykit on it, I'm not sure what yet, and more than likely a new hood.
The vertical doors will be gone as of this weekend, dont ask, they are junk and I simply cannot stand them anymore. The interior will be toned down a bit but still eye catching. As far as paint, I'm not sure yet. I want to go back to Black, but if I stay with orange, it will be a little different this time around.
Lets here some ideas.... My goal is something still radical, but subtle at the same time. Keep that in mind.... I wanna hear the .orgs input.
Meck , your the man. Im sure whatever changes it will be just as good as your car is now
.
Good luck with swap, and keep us posted !
PS: i kinda like the orange, its a little different, but i think black would look nice too.
Good luck man I'm guessing your going with an ECO ? You'll love it.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.

nope, its 1.6 liters bigger
and the reason i thought of black, is because thats what the car used to be, and black is dead sexy
Hood, spoiler, paint color, lose the diamond plate (tho you get points for using real plate, not the plastic garbage
lol). If you keep the same aggressive eye lids, smooth them down more so it actually looks like it was originally made that way (not bubbled out). Rest is up to you
I'd try to make the interior at least flow better myself, but than again I wouldn't paint it bright colors in the first place lol
Good luck with the project, I'm lookin' forward to progress pics

i would say lose the hood, and spoiler, like you said make the doors flow with the rest, lower it, and i like the interior in that pic hated the flames on the dash that was in there b4
R.I.P. Brian Klocke, you will never be forgotten
meckster: if you decide to sell the wheels....i would be very interested....if your exterior mods exceed that much....by the way i love your car the way it is...great job

Ditch the hood, replace it with an Evo hood, shave the tails and add the brickyard spoiler. Swap the rear end for a BC2, Paint the whole thing Dark Blue, Black, or White, with pearl, and leave everything as is in the Interior.
I like it the way it is, but if I was going to change it, thats what I would do. Hope thats what your looking for. Please dont take it as an insult, Its just cause you want a change
there is only 1 thing i havent liked about your car and thats the spoiler. but you mentioned replacing it. besides that i LOVE the car
Depends on your taste, you can go both ways clean or wild and out there. If you like the clean look, then I would say deffinatly go a new route, but if you like it wild, dont change a thing. I ALWAYS loved your car, it deffinatly doesnt look anything like anything else out there. Deffinatly go through with the motor swap, get it in show condition again, and put air bags on her, so you dont tear it apart on the road. Its about damn time you get rid of that OHV!!! Yay!!
Keep it up, your doing great!
I would say:
- New hood (ram maybe would flow with wide body imo)
- New front and rear and smooth sides similar to 03+ ls
- diff rims
- diff head lights (projectors)
- Keep the interior maybe just new paint scheme
I like the car it's diff. But if you wanted to change it thats what I would do if I owned it.

BIG CHANGES
plans sound good. sounds like you plan on getting rid of the more unpopular things you did to the car and keeping the things that look good. i look forward to seeing the finished result.
hmmm...
some nice new 18 inch rims
new hood
new front bumper..... im sorry that is the only thing i didnt like on ur car lol
no spoiler! woot shaved is better
black mmmmmm
black and silver interior ( keep the diamond plate it looks killer
)
thats it !!! ur car is sweet as hell now so lol whtever you do im sure it will look just as beautiful!
"Boost tuning"....... have you had your 8 PSI today?
future name of the winter shop!!!
KEEP the interior, Ditch the hood(always hated the eyelids), Brickyard spoiler is sexy.
That's it
Dude, you know I like your car. Always have (since I have known it... I wasnt crazy about your 'yellow phase'... haha), and always will...
The only thing I could suggest is the same thing I tell everyone else. Stick with two main colors and a neutral accent color (white, black, gray) to split them up if need be. I think the car as a whole would be totally different if it was all orange and white or all blue and white.
As far as kit swapping, the BC2 front is hot. If I changed my front, I'd buy that one. When you say brickyard, do you mean the prostock? I'm not a fan of that or the one you have, but the prostock would be a step in the right direction for me.
I've never had a problem with the hood (hell, you were the one who made me think about adding eyelids to mine). If you had to change, I would look at the invader, maybe?
Other than that, focus on the engine swap. Once you have something with that much juice under the hood, it'll help to shape your focus on the rest of it
^^ brickyard is a 3 piece wrap-around spoiler that is or used to be made by keystone. reminds me a lot of a monte carlo spoiler (2 gens ago)
i cant wait to see what you do with this car meck, i love it now... some things not my taste but still amazing.
Check out my build thread!
^ I believe is current spoiler IS the Prostock :bleh: Brickyard...

yes, the brickard spoiler rocks, and it would tie in great with the widebody. AS far as the wheels, ill be keeping them, and actually the blue rings have been off for quite sometime, it does look much cleaner
I'd say keep the interior how it is. Do the motor swap or A motor swap anything....and then paint the car the same blue thats on the inside with a new kit and spoiler. You'd have one of the hottest cars ever!
the interior is hot
the rest is not, well at least in my opinion
i have never seen the car in person, but i do respect the amount of time and effort put into it, not my taste, but maybe the new look will be more up my ally, who knows
just do it the way you want again and ignore the haters lol
i'd say just get rid of ALL of the BLUE because to me it just doesnt work at all..
and the hood too, then the car will look super sweet man!!
