Turbo Ecotec pictures...TAKE A LOOK

Well i finshed the turbo install about a week ago and ive just been messing around with getting the engine bay gleaming again after winter. I put my polished fuel rail on and polished my cam cover. The pipe that goes from the throttle body an dips down into the intercooler is getting sanded down and painted arrival blue to match the car this week as well as the new ignition module i have in the garage. I broke the one on the car when i was taking off my weapon r header. My type j kit in getting painted right now along with a new trunk to replace the one with the holes from that ugly spolier. I also took off the splash decal and went for the clean look. Im also gonna drill the battery plate out and replace it with a piece of stainless sheet metal. Im running 6 psi right now till i get the boost controller working right. Heres some pics. I still have some work to do. Let me know what ya think.

Yea ill take some pics tomorrow for ya. The pipe im running under the car right now is 2" but im switching to 2.5" here next week to push more air for more psi. Its real simple though. Coming off the left side of the left side of the intercooler if your looking at it from the front of the car it comes out and make a 180 turn( you haev to cut a hole in the plasitc for the pipe to travel through). Next it goes straight for about 16 inches then makes a 90 degree twards the back of the car. Straight for 4 inches and under the oil pan at the part where it has the most recess so the pipe wont scrape. The I used a 45 to curve twards the turbo and then another 45 to go around the driveshaft or whatever is there. Finally a straight to the turbo. Ill post pics tomorrow.

For the valve cover i started with 120 grit sandpaper and worked my way up to 2000 wet sand then used mothers aluminum polish or you could use flitz. Same for the fuel rail.

how much does the hood clear the TB elbow?

Re: Turbo Ecotec pictures...TAKE A LOOK
Tuesday, April 18, 2006 8:19 AM
It clears the hood by about 1/2 an inch but the actual piping is hitting the hood. I need to get it redone so I have more room. I might just cut the elbow by the TB so it drops the whole shabang. I know the engine moves it around when im driving but im not sure how much.

Looks good man, hope it runs well too! I'm not a fan of that pipe over the battery tray but hey that's my taste.

Congrats on the project.

What do you think I should do with the pipe then SunfireGT. Im just looking for ideas. I kinda want the BOV facing upwards but id have to dip the pipe down pretty far for the BOV to clear the hood.
