Yep...finally got to me here in Germany after about 14 days!! Got a few things to order still...heat exchanger and the parts that go along with intercooling it and a few new gauges but at least the biggest piece is here!
I may not be the first 2002 Eco that has the SC but I'll bet I'll be the first in Europe to run it!! So...on with the pics!!!
Oh...and since not many folks know me here...this is what it's going it!
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?

I picked mine up from Pace Performance...mainly due to some issues about shipping and all to Germany. But I got a great price so I had too!!

I need to tune in on this install. i wanna see how your gonna put it on your 02 and what things you changed.. it'll be my guideline. your gonna be rolling with the big dogs on the german freeways.

Well so far only 2 things will be changed/swapped:
went with the 03 fuel rail, lines, pipes, regulator, etc
Need to shave a bit off the top of the charger (plug area) so it doesn't hit my hood (this is an 2002 thing)
Other than that I don't plan on changing a thing. We'll see I guess but that's the plan right now. Originally I was going to swap in an 03 ECU due to not being able to get the reflash but Pace Performance got the answers I needed to use my 02 ECU.
Hopefully it goes like this? I won't get the reflash till 30 May 06...pending the intercooler parts coming in. I'll know for sure then!

what do i need to put a intercooler on this?i have a 04 cavalier. mine will be here soon too.
thanks james

Car is amazing.

i may need to get one soon as well.
my carDomain
yeah the map sensor spot with a sensor , just barely scratches the hood on the g/fs cav and she has the rk ram air
i really didnt want to cut it down , but im gonna have to do some thing about it
i was hoping to get it welded , then smoothed out and polished

A few things...and I'll quote 97cavie24ls ^ ^ ^ ^ as I had to ask the same question...
Quote:
You need an independent radiator for the system. It can be relatively small compared to the engine's radiator and it is usually mounted in front of the engine radiator and condesor because that is where the largest amount of cool moving air is available.
You will also need hoses, an electric coolant pump, and some sort of reservoir for that will allow air to settle out of the system.
there are plenty of these parts available for Mustang Cobras and F150 Lightnings, so finfing them should be really easy. Cobalt and Ion parts will still be sorta rare to find.
yes it will work, but you need some parts that are not included in the gm kit. (water pump, heat exhanger, resivoir, and some hose)
May be better off getting a stainless overflow bottle like the ones that Jegs and Summit sell for hot rods and muscle cars... just a nice shiny stainless steel cylinder to fit right into a corner of the engine bay somewhere and match your valve cover and the other shiny stuff in there. Would probably give more capacity than the bike reservoir would too, and the overall capacity being higher will help overall cooling effect somewhat.
im using the stock cobalt piece , err will be once i get finished with the g/fs cav
the stock 1 has a cap and has 5/8" hose for inlet and outlet , granted it doesnt hold alot of coolant
but the heat exchanger does
also you can use 1 from a cobra or lightning , but that will vary with the room you have
I got a couple part numbers and prices
Reservoir--22697069--$15.49 GM Parts Direct or $38.53 at the dealer
Bracket--22707614--$8.84 GM Parts Direct or $23.43 at the dealer
Cap for the reservoir--15076936--$6.29 GM Parts Direct or $16.67 at the dealer.
the drain hose is # 22697111
22731576 is 1 of the hoses off the resivior down , but i think its the 1 that goes to the heat exchanger
I'm still collecting parts for this but I will have them in the next week or so (hoping!!)
