Trunk set up

So now that the rain has stopped (for now) I was able to get to cutting some more.... Well I got the big stuff done today

All that is left to do is; make the toppers for the trunk lid side of box; make small corners to cover up the trunk space area, and add fabric

Getting to the tail lights is going to be a bitch if a Bulb comes out, but it will look cool. lol.

On with the pics:

I think this is where the nitrous will be mounted.

And this is what I am calling "the usable trunk space. lol. 2 subs and a amp would look killer mounted on those walls kicked sideways, but no subs are going in my car. I may add a amp or something for the 6X9's but I doubt that i'll do that. So it will be covered in fabric as well. and whatever ends up there, ends up there.

Fabric will be Black Vinyl, like the rest of the interior has been done in.

So...maybe I'm confused, but if you're not putting in any audio equipment, are you just trying to segment your storage space?

Re: Trunk set up

zero audio!

just a clean looking trunk so that you don't see any of the fender wells and a nice spot to mount a nitrous bottle.

Re: Trunk set up

you mean zero trunk space for no reason? because you could hide a bottle in a much smaller area and still have a trunk

what a waste of MDF. I am sure it will look cool for your set up but no system my heart is broke.

Hmmm, I'd make a killer a$$ audio set-up off that design with many tweaks.

Have two 500/1 amps mounted diagonal on the back wall facing out of the trunk. Probably plexi-glass that with mirrors and L.E.D's!

Put two 10's or 12's on the diagonal walls inside the trunk. Plexi glass that front pointing towards the interior with thick plexi(possibly add the chevy logo) and mirror + L.E.D the inside. .

Seperate the box inside so both subs have their own chamber.

Have the box to where it actually comes all the way to the backseat and Wha-LA! One hot set-up.

Thanks for the idea!

LOL! your welcome for the idea

I was never a fan of subs. I had them in one of my old cav's and just got tired of it. Like I said, its not complete. The storage area will come all the way to to seat, but for now, this will do. I just needed to get the harder parts done first.

I know its a waste of MDF to the ones who want loud stereo's but I want the clean trunk look, and stand out from other Cavaliers in the area. The main reason for building it was to have a creative place to mount the bottle.

Yeah subs are way overrated in the tuner scene.

Man that isnt pointless. So what if he is losing his trunk space maybe he has a truck for hauling things that he cant get in his car. I say its gunna be sweet with or without subs in it.

Looks good so far. Keep us updated on the progress

i agree so ive stopped listening to bands that have drums. or bass guitars or pianos. hmm well i guess im just listening to acepella now.

your off to a start. hopefully it will turn out nice, it just seems to me your losing the majority of your trunk just for a nitrous bottle.

its a Cavalier, if I wanted to haul stuff, I would of bought a Blazer or S10. But then of course it would be on bags, and c-notched. So i guess if i wanted to haul @!#$, i'll rent a U-Hual. Plus its a 4door, so I have easy acess to the back seat

And I think subs are a pointless amount of bass that I just don't need. It just something else for someone to brake into my car and try to steal. The bass I am happy with, is accomplished by 6X9's.

Anywhom, alot of people have liked the set up that have seen it in person. Didn't get a chance to work on it today, 'cause I spent most of my day at the garage, and the other part at a cruize in promoting my site, his garage, and having fun for once.

kinda cool i guess.. get the bottle in there

Built the frames for my skates today. The bottle will be mounted under the 6X9's. and the walls will be mirrored so that the bottle reflects all around it with the base (bottle mounting spot) will be black vinyl.

I in-line, so I wanted to incorporate that into the box. Since the bottle will be under the 6X9's I had to fill the area where the bottle was orginially going to be. So now you see my Razor Shima 3 skates

I am a e-gangsta yo!

Seriously though... that wing is gayness. lol.

and so far, the MDF isn't really that heavy., It may be a pound or two more than the spare tire, jack, lug wrench combo. and I only have maybe a pannel or two left to build. Other than the 2000-02 bumper, the sunfire console, headlinner/rear deck, and JDM tails, this is like the only other cosmetical thing i've done to the car.

And like i love to preach. BE DIFFERENT! I like having set ups that not everyone has, or can go to the store and get.
