Well, i didn't think it could happen, but it did. Because of my rocker roller stud pulling out the threads on my cylinder head, it somehow caused the valve to open further, or for a longer duration , thus causing the valve to hit the piston. So, because of some threads not holding in the rocker roller stud, i now need a new piston, and new valves. I'm also going to get a new head, because i don't trust the metal in this one anymore. If it happen to one, what's to prevent it from happening to other studs. Also, it should ne noted that the piston is a wiseco forged piston which has also been cryotreated.
On to the pics.
This is right after we pulled the head. The valve is actually lodged into the piston. It won't come out. It's stuck in there. So, it must have really gotten slammed in there to make it stick.

Here is the cylinder head. You can see where it consistently kept hitting the area where the spark plug enters the combustion chamber.
Comparison to another cylinder:
Here is from a different angle.
Here is the pistons rotated to its lowest point. The cylinder walls look untouched. That's about the only good news from this. At least i don't have to pull the motor to get the cylinder walls fixed. I can just install a new piston, and head.
Whoa. So how did that happen? From the title I assumed your timing chain had snapped but this seems to be something else.
I was happy when I heard my car ran 10s. Then I found out that was 0-60.
wow jeff, just wow.
that really sucks dude
you have the worst friggin' luck I swear.
Wow, that sucks.
Looks like you need a new head for sure.

did u bother to read?

That's really rough, hope you have far better luck with the rebuild this time.

Hmm, just kidding.

Ya, the rocker roller caused the valve to hit the piston.
Wonder if theres any other damage under the piston from it slamming the head, might be worth looking over well.

Like, bearings? or the rod?
Wrist pin, rod, bearings.
hate to say this but my rod tapping was the best thing thats happened to my car cause the rebuild owns all, cause now i have little to no worrie that the weak internals are gonna break since im using wiseco and eagle.
Ok I have read this but still do not understand how the valve came out got turned upside down and then gone through the piston. Damn. I'm sorry for your luck, but I would pull the motor if it was me.

Yah, but this already was rebuilt. It's only got 500 miles since the rebuild.
Fully forged internals... and cryotreated.
man, that's no big deal...just put a grinder on that piston, it'll smooth out
damn man, sucks, good luck getting everything back together

thats what i was thinking.
looks like he broke a valve. and i hope he didn't put all that @!#$ in his motor and
not use arp studs. that would be back asswards.
hondas are like tampons...
every p***y needs one

I did have arp main studs, and arp head studs.
aight my bad. guess i shoulda checked the regestry

Seems like that motor just doesn't want to run for you?
Would this also be JBP's fault (as was the case with the wrist pin) or is this unrelated?
What's your new ETA??? I think i would have killed somebody by now. I have the worst luck bro, but I'm yet to break 2 built engines in less than 1000 miles...
I pass the torch to you. And that's not a good torch to have!!!!
Good luck man.
-Chris-
This would be unrelated to JBP, because the cylinder head which failed, from the threads pulling out, was not from JBP. It was a re-manufactured on from a local junk yard...
So, i suppose it was just old weak metal, and the stiff springs from JBP were too much for it to handle. Is that because the springs are too stiff? I don't know.
As for luck, ya, i feel like i have the worst. But at least not, it will be a built head, and a even more built head, and it will be stronger.
