Yup, 6 hours, 3 and a half cans later, and a bit of polish my engine bay is finally something I'm not ashamed of...

When I got the car: (I'm sorry if you throw up in your mouths a little)

After intake:

Annnd finally...

Drum roll please....

I polished the valve cover with NEVR DULL and then going over with a liquid metal polish, looks 100% better, but I'm having trouble getting the stains on the cover out (you can see what they look like in the original pics). I'm assuming its from the rust proofing being burned on top of it. Any that suggestions on how to get it off would be great. I've tried the degreaser, brake cleaner, and polishing till my hand was about to fall out. Well thanks for lookin, thats all for now.

Haha... yeah I'm not sure why I waited that long lol...

And to those that asked why it looked like that... When I got the car, the dealer rust proofed (in Canada remember), it but they sprayed the wrong stuff on the engine - they put the underbody rust proofing on the engine, instead of the clear stuff they're supposed to use. Basically its this sticky brown oil that you cant take off unless you use some heavy duty cleaner.

And thanks 97cavie24ls, I will get that stuff this week and see what I can do next weekend.

Thanks for compliments

In the first pics, I thought your engine bay was gold Looks sweet, I'm usin' the same stuff on a 30+ year old riding mower that I picked up to do a custom restoration on...

< Before de-greasing - with hood/grill removed BTW, don't have any pics of after degrease tho, frame is now Rustoleum Semi-Flat black I'll have to get before & after pics of the cutting deck and motor plate, those had the worst crap...

< As of this morning

Great job on that clean-up
