So i picked up these Valeos at work from a wrecked CTS, I did detailing at a body shop over the summer (also picked up a single 06 Range Rover HSE , bulb, ballast and projector if anyones interested). I was reading a lot on HID planet and figured I would give the retro thing a shot. I bought my headlights off ebay (they came with clear corners), along with a wireing harness. Once everything came in I got to work. Im not quite done yet, headlights still need a little tweaking but they will work for now. The manual labor was a little harder than I thought, expecially with the cheap battery powered Dremel i bought from walmart, I would dremel for 10 min and then would have to turn around and charge the thing for 3 hours.......anyway i had a LOT of trouble finding a shroud for the valeo's, and i wasnt willing to pay another $100 for some BMW shrouds, so i just painted them. Anyway, here are some pics. I have a lot more, they are just on my other computer. I will post them up later, enjoy...
I wanted to get some more color along the whole cutoff, but i couldnt without totally blurring the whole thing. All the washer mod did was move the color above the cutoff, and when i bent the shield it was TOTALLY blurred. I will have some more pics soon!! -kevin
looks real nice kevin!!!!
yea, to get more color, sometimes you have to sacrifice a clean cut. but then you get to bend the shield in/out, and move the lens in/out, and all kinds of good stuff.
i love the way it looks buddy. great job!!!!!!!!!!!
gotta love Valeos!
