well after workin from 530-915 last night with bobby, we got the center piece of the swaybar hung properly, but for the life of us couldnt drill out the rear end to mount the rear side brackets.
SOOOOOO
i talked to my dad about it and he asked me if the drill was on the right or the left. I told him the button was on the left. after calling me a dumbsh-- he told me switch the button. MY GOD right is forward. wow. so at this point i feel stupid, raise the car again, 5 minutes later i have the hole drilled and am test fitting the hardware, everything works, take apart, tighten for final fit, one side down, one to go. Other side goes in even easier, and by 7 i have the car done, tested it on the road, its brought back and washed and shamied.
Now im really sweaty and dirty. time for a shower but not before the pics!
comments welcome.
its the 1st style mounting Addco rear swaybar, my front is on backorder from Gravana but should be in asap. Will have pics of that when the time comes.....
thanks, it feels great when driving, can only wait to see what the added front one does to compliment it
Looks good, I have the Addco rear aswell and seeing this thread reminded me that I still have my Addco front to install. Congrats!
i love the way that exaust looks! i want to get some sway bars but iuno which ones to go with, got any suggestions?

Eibach bar FTW!!!
For not having to drill any holes, and for having the proper spacer bushings on the end links.
14.330 @ 96.37mph
Looks good............
But.............
Its upside down.
The bar is actually supposed to tuck up and under the axle.
I remember when I had it installed that way, the car felt good in the turns.
But according to the directions, the bar in the pics you posed is supposed to be flipped the other way.

actually the pictures on the install packet that came with it show it and have it put in order to be put in this way, maybe you have the new bar i have the old?!
J-Tech tuner - i have not had any experience with any of the other swaybars as this is the first set ive installed, but i havnt seen anything negative on the Addco bars other than maybe a little bit of a pain on trying to thread the bolts??! Also, i love the way my exhaust sits/looks. Its positioned perfectly with the rear bumper, and from the back it has a clean look to it.
Thanks alex, how do you like yours so far?
^^^ i was going to say that same thing
oh and PS means post script

Well,
On the TFM website it has it the other way.
First time I ever saw it about 3 years ago on Events car it was the other way.
Heck, even the incorrect directions they sent with the current newer versions has it the other way.
lol
I have a scan of it on the computer I can repost.
So when I got it a couple years back I had it the other way.
Now currently I have the newer shorter version and I made a post comparing the two before I sold off the style you have.
And when I was swaping back and forth, I installed it the way you have,
Like I said, the way you have it the car felt slightly tighter in curves.
Granted I have the Z24 with that torsion bar in the axle thingy and I made note of that in my posts.
But when its tucked under the axle, its more stealth.
Either way, its a nice addition to which I'm sure you're diggin'
Have fun,

when it's tucked in the axle, the endlinks aren't at an angle like that either from what i can remember installing mine.
i love my rear addco bar. i still need to pick up the front though to complete the package.
Yeah, upside down. I have it installed on my car tucked in. It looks better and you'll notice that things line up better. No biggie, just flip the bushing plates.
that looks like the old bar , and should be up inside the V part of the axle
the new 1 sits like that
eh its all good, i like it the way it is, not too worried about stealth or not, as i barely bring the car out other than to go to work. two jobs and at the end of every day im usually dead. thanks for the comments so far!
I do need to update my sig, ne suggestions on something nice?

Correct, and thats my bad.
The bar isn't upside down, its the 'D' bushings that you would wanna flip so its tucked better.
Up under the 'V' like stated above.
Nothing major, and it works fine the way it is.
R u gonna get a front sway as well?

yep the d bushings are upside down when i first installed mine a year ago i did the same thing... all you have to do is remove it and turn the d bushings to where they go up into the rear axle and it will be good to go....

i didn't have to drill any holes, and i had all the correct bushings
addco ftw
i love my sway bars
.
So that's what they look like new. I bought mine used w god knows how many miles on it. Plus it's been on 2 of my cars with something like 85,000 total miles.

yea... its installed WRONG. The end of the bar should be coming in straight to the bushing, not on an angle like that
it looks stupid
just flip the Ds the other way around and its fixed.
seriously you are going to scrape that thing to @!#$, you really should flip it
im sorry pj it offends you so bad, when you change your exhaust ill change my swaybar just for you
navycav 3 - i honestly dont think ill scrape that bad as i originally thought because its lined up with the tires, unless theres road debrie or something
fastcavz24- what do yours look like now? im curious to see how they age.
mastin - yes i also ordered the addco front bar from gravana but as of this morning it was still shipping pending

It won't scrape bad.
When I had it like that, I had a full trunk and back seat and have to go over a speedbump whenever I leave my apt complex.
No scraping.
And they age fine.
I think there is some kind of coating on them.
But you could always spray a clearcoat of something or get it painted some other color to protect it.

if you're talking about the angles, they aren't there anymore. so flip the bar now lol
ill get right on it to please you, my internet fan club, but its all good, no jbo drama here.
Mastin - yeah i have a full trunksetup so theres some weight in the rear end and theres a hump getting into the parking lot where i leave my car to go to work and no problems at all. The Type J on the other hand, thats before the tires not in line with them :-( id rather drag my bars.
