i just fished painting/clearing these about an hour ago!
color is CANDY APPLE RED WITH A GOLD BASE!
(used black primer as a filler of any small imperfections)
mind you that this will be installed with in a tan interior
[so all that damn graphite color crap is now going candy apple!]

If you're going for the red interior thing I'd recommend geting the Sunfire Cluster as well.
I did that on my Z24 and it went alot better with the black and red I had.
Heres it at night

...Ah, metaphysics.
i'm going for a tan & red interior, the guage color doesnt bother me, if it did, lol, i'd go with some indiglo gauges

Thats cool, I guess I just like the sunfire cluster better. Then again I wanted to do a cavfire thing but sold the car to get the fairlane.

doesnt look like you sprayed enough clear on the bezel, unles its just the picture, i know from experience, i didnt spray enough on some spots and now they are all grainy, hope yours isnt the same
haha. it doesnt look like the gauge/radio bazel isnt finished. but it is. you have to remember i used CANDY color to tint the gold, so at angels it'll look unfinshed, and at other angels it'll look pure red, thats the effect i was going after!

oh so the black spots are really gold pearl?
I would suggest picking out a similar color from a chip book and spraying them with an automotive paint gun. The difference is night and day. keep it up

those are the reflections & shadows. i'll post up some direct sunlight pictures tomorrow

looks painted... if thats the look you're going for, good job. but personally, i would have rather it look ed more like colored plastic plastic than paint. anybody will look at your interior and know you spray-canned it.
Good choice on color, but when a color other than graphite or something of that taste is sprayed on non-sanded down plastic pieces looks cheap and ricey, I am sure you will take offense to that, its your right, but I have a right to my opinion. If that is the look you wanted, you did a great job.
I know you candied it, but I think I still see what other people are talking about. It's either not sanded, so there is some texture left on the surface or you didn't do the clear coat heavy enough. It's not important though if you don't care.
i left the texture, to make it look like it was still factory direct
(i didnt want that damn "fiberglass" look)
but like i said, i'll repost direct sunlight pictures, so everyone can see that the gauge/radio bazel is painted and NOT "blochy" with black sections! LOL.
you people sure do like to nit pick about every little detial! LOL... what would life be with out the JBO?
!

I understand that, but when you paint something a flashy color like that, there goes all of that "stock appeal" you wanted. I dont think anyone would ever think it would be stock, and the clearcoat gives things away too. I havent seen any stock plastic pieces clear coated
haha, you know I am just busting your balls, but I do have so good points right?
Actually, the only factory painted interior pieces I know of (New Beetle) are smooth, not textured.
