well i havent posted pics in a while, some may have noticed but prolly not. anyways heres a little explanation. motor started smoking pretty bad and ticking on startup. so i was going to swap a new head on untill i found how costly gaskets and bolts were. so i hunted for a new motor. finally found one thanks to my boy chad. its from a 04 sunfire with 31,000 miles, little upgrade from the 106,000 mine had!! big time thanks to my jbom homies with the help, paul, jon and chad. thanks a ton. well heres the shots

He went from eco to eco if you look at the pics of the old engine versus the new engine they are similar.

Out in 3 hours, in, and running, in 4 hours. J-BOM teamwork FTW!!

just noticed i put up the pic of my real feelings on the engine bay pic twice. lol oops.

thanks guys im just happy to have her back. it dose feel much stronger now. dont know if its cause of less miles or cause its an 04 or what it might be.

i have no idea what happened to the old motor, i want to take the head apart before i get rid of this motor to find out. i have guesses of crushed valve guide, knicked valve, or bad head gasket. who knows tho.

the pewter car is for sale now. $5500 obo. its on storage ins now. was drivin 5 times all summer. just lost intrest in it i guess. eco is much more fun to drive.

Well, I went from a 2.2 ohv to a built 2.4 and honestly Id say it WOULD be worth it to do a 2.4 to a 2.2 eco swap. Better technology, lighter and the aftermarket for it is on a come up.. Id probably say its more reliable as well.. Just my opinion, Id say go for it.

Steve - if the motor is not spoken for, would you be interested in selling me the Valve cover, that way I can send it out for chrome. Or I can simply just give you my valve cover after I get yours chromed.

I just don't want to have my car undrivable in the winter in case I have to move it. Let me know.

oh shes back now feelin stronger than ever. i got a few things in store real soon. ill be sure not to let it go so long without some photo shoots.

james its pretty much spoken for but i dont think it would be a problem for it to be without a cover for a couple months.
