Looks like you did an auto-enhance on the photo.

The before pic looks a lot warmer than the top one.

It does look better. However, there is still some room for improvement. I have never used engine bright. Save the cash and get a gallon of degreaser and use that, just dilute it with water. What I do is mix up some degreaser solution and use a soft wheel brush to clean it. Do it when the engine is cold. Rinse it off, spray on the degreaser and scrub, then rinse it off. It works well for me.

Oh, and if u have an air compressor, use that to dry it off.

I'm lovin the powdered fuel rail. I think I might do mine this week.

all he was trying to do is point out i he cleaned it up a bit not stating that it was actually cleaned completely and show the fuel rail is powdered coated. and i its photo enhanced i actually helped scrub the engine bay with him. i agree with him theres to much negativity on the org here and others will vouch for that to. it doesnt hurt to acknowledge it was cleaned if your going to post period, but yes everyones entitled to there opinion but damn.

engine brite is a can degreaser works really well honestly but might give your idea a try

The one, the only, ME.

if you want, pay me $50 and I'll make it as clean as mine. Seriously, and it will take about 1-2hours.

I would just use HOT soapy water and a Brush and some towels to clean it, the Engine Brite left Residue on ALL the black parts. It takes more than spraying on and rinsing off, you need to lightly scrub the engine bay, go to the car wash, turn the brush on and spend about $2.00 on it, then lightly rinse it off. Makes sure to pay attention to the black parts. Hoses and all plastic.

This was a 5minute clean up on my 03 winter car when I put on the intake. It looks even better now that I cleaned the firewall, but notice the black plastic and hoses.

One day I'll have the 03 look like this under the hood, as far as clean goes. Not dress up.

But yeah, for the most part I do not use HARSH chemicals, I use soapy water, lots of it.

there's a little difference, but nothing to brag about.

Im sorry but I thought the same thing before reading any comments. I didnt see how it was any cleaner.

You need to calm the @!#$ down. Jesus christ...

I really had to look for that fuel rail.

And both pictures are dirty. Use a wet rag and actually wipe stuff down next time, you'll get better results.

^^^^ alright, got it. i understand that you guys are having a hard time seeing the difference, but come on, you had to look hard for the fuel rail?

I'm sorry I don't see a major difference. Black always shows up imperfections though. I hate cleaning black.

Well look at it, it's half hidden by the air box and other lines. Plus I didn't know what I was looking for, and it's not a high contrast color.

Re: someone said to wash the engine bay?

This how a clean motor should look like.
Black parts (hoses, belts, looms, fan shrouds, etc.) should be wiped clean and
actually appear black. Clean, wipe, and dry the firewall, airbox, battery, and coolant reservoir as well.

Also note...this is actually dirty in this picture and a totally original 17 year old engine too, yours is 3. how the heck is yours so dirty and mud spattered...even after it's been washed???
