Big thanks to Joey Baggs for the template
False Floor progress.
I still need to cut one corner out and put it in place. The template was just a bit longer than the 2 sheets of 1/4 MDF I was using.
Yes thats black fur. Hides staples, and its soft and fuzzy
And the tank was used, so some of the grooves I couldn't really do much about. (or didn't feel like doing anything about) But I did paint the tank
Thinking about painting my compressor to match.
...
looks good man!! glad it worked out nice for ya! keep it up
what kinda compressor you got there?
Viar 400C..... Will be upgraded eventually to a Air Zenith 100% Duty Cylce
...
looks good not really diggin the stars on the tank tho
if you knew me.... you'd understand.
my belt, wallet, room, cell phone, all have stars on them. My g/f even bought me one of those Star Namer things, where they name a star in your name. So it was only fitting to have some in my car.
...
i guess he's used to fur on everthing else the car just follows, not feelin fur on the floor at all!!! and staples wth would you need staples for you have glue!
watch for flying sparks!!!
staples are quicker and just as effective as glue. Plus if I decided to change down the road, I'm not sanding the boards down to get the glue off. Just pulling off fur, and then whatever.
...
i kinda like the fur if you do it all the way up
well, I have to get the trunk carpet and I may re-cover that in more fur, or dye it black. Just so that its all black.
...
yea i say cover it in fur and it would look awsome
Air Zenith? Check the S-10 Forum in the Air Bag section to see how many people had to send theirs back. Maybe after reading all the horror stories you'll change your mind.
Stick with Viair, I love mine and not ever have they fialed me. Or anyone else I know that has them.
As far as glue vs. Staples - You could easily pull off the fabric even if it was glued down and recover it without Sanding down anything. Whatever fabric/carpet you use will cover any texture the glue has left behind.
Now what exaclty are your plans for your cav? You lost me now that you have air.
idk. I change my plans a lot.
The poor tranny has nearly 150K on it, so I've tried to lay off on the performance part of it, to maybe preserve some life in it. And theres been soooooo many times where I have been just driving around at night and thought to my self.... I'd really like to lay the car out right now. It'll never be a "show" car because its my daily driver. I just want to have some fun with it now. The performance aspect is fun at times, but not fun ALL the time. As to where air can be fun, whenever you want.
I should be spending my money into getting the dang car re-painted, but anymore I don't care. I'll probably send it over to someone and have it primed and sealed, so its at least all one color.
But one thing will remain the same. Keep the OEM styling! When I first seen the car, I thought to my self, that it would look great stock lines, 2000-02 Converted front, JDM Tails, and maybe a LS Sport kit on bags. So it I guess I am going back to my original plans. And I have already accomplished the 2000-02 Front swap.
This car, or any other car I ever own will NEVER be completed. Because I change my taste, style, and mind on so many different aspects. I don't like to leave something the same for too long, unless it just works. I look at different aspects of the car and think, that needs tweaked. The problem with that is, I have so many ideas, and no time, no money, and they all come at once. So I end up starting on stuff, and not finishing because I move onto something else.

Little Update on the project.
Got the trunk carpet today. It was in perfect condition, which is odd, being as I got it from a junk yard, where the car had NO TRUNK ON IT! Wasn't wet, was dirty, was ripped, just perfect!
So heres the pic with the carpet in. Looks a lot better now that you can't see the wires for the tails and keyless entry.

pimpin shag, dye the carpet the same color, then light it up with a neon or something

plan on dying the carpets black. Its just that, well, I don't have any die, and just wanted to get some carpets in the trunk.
Im not much of a "neon" fan, but i may mess around with some LED's hidden in the rear deck to light it all up.
...
some lights would really set it off. make it glow and shine lol it would look hot, what about the outside. any plans?
