looking good. what did you use for support? how many layers is that?
http://www.gadomestics.com/
i used chicken wire covered in duct tape then layed 4 layers down.
So thats 4 layers right there still needs alot of work to make mounting tabs and such still need to mold the bottom of the bumper to mold to this peice.
I don't know if you all got that but ill have pictures tomorrow again.
Thanks,
Paul
thats lookin awesome. keep it goin

There already are. We just need to get photos up.
Paul, did you spray mold release over the duct tape to help it come off? I'm interested in seeing what the underside and back look like. It looks pretty good thus far.
I'm a bitch. Look out. I'm here to start drama.
Please take everything I say seriously.

agreed!!!! even though i am not really in that catagory! lol
looks preatty damn good so far man!!!
looks good, only thing i wonder about is where it looks like ur going to have cut outs, kinda close to the bumper so it might run into weakness there unless ur just gonna cut it all and have teh bottom of the bumper exposed there. depending on how its made its gonna flex, so small/weak spots will tend to crack or even break off.. but it looks like you started off alot better then i did..
Good luck tho, i know how much of a pain its can be.. so good luck lol..

x2, which reminds me, i prolly should get back to working on this stuff.. i procrastinate to much.
thanks guys with thos cut outs there's going to be a piece that flows the same as the bottom of the bumper itself that will then be molded to this piece.
I going to go start working on it now so updates later tonight or tomorrow.
paul... ever thought of using some thing flat aluminum for a support brace ran along the inside edge of it? i think that would give you plenty of strength and you could even mold it in. if you get it thin enough you could just bent it with your hands for the contouring.
all n all, idk if i like it yet either, i wanna see a close-to-finished product. it IS good that your making one tho, as these bumpers just have a major lack of support when it comes to the aftermarket world.
i myself will never use a different front bumper, i love the way these look and wont ever change.
good job paul, keep it up!
No i didn't use mold release.
From what I have done in the past the duct tape usually comes right off.
Just leaves a little waves on the back side nothing huge tho.
The only thing I use mold release on is my molds for dash bezels.
I just got the bottom of the bumper fiberglassed.
Picture coming soon.
Paul
OK here's some more pictures now that i have the second piece made.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Paul
looks good so far!....
next comes sanding.. the worst part lol

5 seconds to find another street...
should be molded together and couple more layers laid down tomorrow or tonight yet the sanded smoothed with a little bondo and ready for paint.
But we'll have see how far I actually get lol.
Thanks for the great comments so far.
Probably have more pictures tomorrow.
Thanks,
Paul
looks great so far... i really want to do something like that this summer. do you plan on making a rear lip or are you just making a front lip?
Check out my build thread!
I will probably be making just the front lip for now.
The only thing that really sucks is iam out of resin so i guess i wont be fiber glassing them together today unless I get some where after work.
Should have finish picture by the end of the week tho.
Thanks,
Paul
well here's a few pictures of what i got done today not much tho.
I cut the lip to a 2'' thickness
Some what molded the 2 pieces together.
Some what mounted it.
I still need to add a lil on the bottom and round the bottom edge and cut out the vents AND make it fit better rite now it kinda sticks off the front.
On to the pictures.
The Piece flowing on the bottom of the bumper will have all the mounting tabs in it.
Questions, comment, concerns
Also let me know if something should be different.
Thanks,
Paul
Anyone have any opinions on it?
What needs to be different and such if anything?
Thanks,
Paul
wow... i honestly never thought it would look that good.
my opinions:
make the bottom edge roll in if you can
make damn sure your vents are the same shape as the ones in the bumper (as best you can)
get that ish bondo'd n sanded man! i wanna see some color!
