This is my 1999 Cavalier.
In those pictures it is stock (except for the chrome trim).
I don't have a front picture on this computer, but it has a bra cover that the previous owner had on.
First thing I'm going to do is buy a wing to replace the stock spoiler. I'm going to paint it black.
Then I am going to put smoke out film on the tail lights.
I'm going to take the bra cover off and it's been on there probably since it was new in 1999 so I'm sure there's a lot of peeled off paint so I'll paint that again (or get a new front bumper, but nothing too fancy, but also nothing too stock looking, I like the Cavalier Z24's stock bumper, so maybe that).
Then depending on how much money I can work up after the spoiler, either buy a carbon fiber hood, or just get a carbon fiber hood wrap.
I printed out a picture of a cavalier and with a sharpie I colored and drew kinda what I wanted the car to look like.
im going to be nice
dont paint your spoiler a different color, it will look silly and out of place
take the chrome things off of your taillights, unless you like them
carbon fiber hood = good
carbon fiber wrapped stock hood = terrible
read around on here and find out what you like, and dont like, then see if you can afford to do it to you car
and lastly, seriously consider dropping a lot of money into a 4-5000 dollar car that has a terrible resale value, and an even worse resale value moddified

i deffinatly agree on that (if you dont plan on keeping it for a long time). i plan on keeping mine forever so its going to be seeing alot of money in the long run.
also do what you like with the color scheme. black and red whill flow together done correctly. i think that if you do what im doing it will look good (but just my opinion). a black spoiler on a red trunk might look out of place with only a black hood. what i did was get a black shaved fiberglassed trunk, to install my black cobalt ss wing that was off of my boyfriends black ss. i have a blue car. i plan on getting a black fiberglass hood and painting it black along with painting the roof black. heres a pic to see if you like how i did it. but as i say, to each his own, if you like it do it. its your car. and that is who you are modifying it for, no one else!
disregard how dirty it is and the winter shoes
it's your car and all and you do what you like but for the love of GOD keep the dignity of your car and take off that chrome trim around the tailights. TRUST ME it'll look so much better with out it. i wouldnt steer your wrong
Tila Tequila? PPSSSSSHHH she's got nothing on me, except i'm not a porn star. and that's ok.
I actually kind of like the trim, although I was planning on taking it off when I smoke out my taillights.
I do like the black roof idea.
My dad has a lot of friends in that business so I could probably get painting real cheap.
Thanks everyone
The chrome is a little off, but it isn't a big deal. At least you didn't carry it over anywhere else. Instead of purchasing a film for your tail lights, look into VHT Nightshades. It's what pretty much everyone around here has used for their tails and it works wonders.
I'm a bitch. Look out. I'm here to start drama.
Please take everything I say seriously.
Thanks, I'll definetely look into that.
I also want to get all white headlights, but that would probably be after the wing and the hood.
if your smoking your taillights and adding other black items to the car, you might want to buy some black projector headlights to go along with it.
Check out my build thread!
I actually thought about red tail lights but I didn't know how that would look.
It doesn't look bad but I'll probably end up going with black to match the red and black scheme I was thinking about.
Thanks alot you guys are really helping me out a lot
Also, you might want to look into lowering your car as well. Head on over to the suspension forum to read up on some good spring and strut set ups. Judging by your age, I'm going to assume you're still in high school and don't have a ton of money to drop on the car, but I can assure you, saving up and doing things right the first time will pay off in the end. Things like choosing a real fiberglass or carbon fiber hood instead of just throwing a wrap on there, lowering your car with aftermarket springs AND struts, instead of just springs (or even cutting or heating them).

Best advice given so far. If you're gonna put money in a car put it where it counts. I can tell you from experience owning a 2200 don't worry about an intake or exhaust until you've had some headwork done either.
hey hey, im in baton rouge too

Well I wasn't going to do TOO much.
I was planning on saving up and getting a z24 engine and put it in.

the thing is, you have a pretty nice car with a clean slate and just doing little things would make it sweet. Drop it first and see how you like it, don't go all adding too much crap and make it crazy looking... take it slow with mods that will change your car, not make it look slightly different
