Well, it really hasn't been very long since my
first posts on this forum last Fall, but the Winter seemed to last forever while I schemed on how I was going to afford the changes I wanted to make. Well, some of the biggest changes are now scheduled.
I've already done some work to clean the car up. I'm having
some trouble with the paint, but I think I have it stabilized to the time being. This is what I've done so far:
I've also stuck on an Addco anti-sway bar, which I think was great value-for-money. Not a corner goes by that I don't thank myself for getting it.
Finally, I also messed around with the interior a bit while
installing some new Yonaka Seats care of Jason at A-Plus.
Yesterday saw the arrival of my set of D-Specs (also care of Jason). They only spent a week and a half in customs, and cost me an extra $85 in taxes and duties.
It's silly how empowering it seems to have the adjustment tool on my keychain.
These are going to be paired with Sportlines. I was enthusiastic about switching over to Road Magnet springs, but nobody there ever answered my forum post or e-mail message about Canadian delivery. It would be one thing if they just said "no", but getting ignored is enough for me to stick with Eibach.
I'm also getting some long-overdue new rotors and ceramic pads from
CQuence Motorsports. Hopefully their quality turns out to be decent.
Since I'm a bit of a putz under a car, I've got the car booked for installation by my friendly neighborhood mechanic tomorrow afternoon. He recommended a Honda dealership in town with "the best alignment rack around", so I'm booked there first thing Friday morning. Damn, I'll be broke, but I can finally say goodbye to my 4x4 stance.
Plus, I'll finally get my trunk space back. I've been stockpiling the parts there for the last couple of months.

thats the setup i have on my car, tokico and sportlines, amazing choice. good thing you did it right the first time. congrats, you have an A+ set up. if you want a comfortable ride, not bumpy and not wavy, try 6 turns from full hard in the back, and 6.5 in the front. great choice

Awesome. That guideline should save me some shakedown time. Thanks.

Looks like things are really coming along for ya. Car looks great and thsoe aprts you got look top notch, can't wait to see the results. Two questions, how come you went with sportlines over prolines? And is your interior black or just charcoal/graphite in low light? It looks awesome!

I went with Sportlines for a few reasons:
1) I'm running slightly undersized tires. They are 215/35/18s. The rubber came on the rims when I bought them second hand, so I'm putting up with those tiny sidewalls until they wear out. In the meantime, I figure the lower the better.
2) I don't have any big floppy bumpers or skirts to worry about tearing off with the first big rock or curb. Since I'm not planning to add any body kit (at least not right away), I want to run tight to the ground.
3) The Sportlines came up on eBay for a good price.
My interior is charcoal, though I've painted the main dash bezel, glove box door, and console compartment lid black. The low light was pretty intentional.
I don't have a better picture right at the moment.

Just a quick follow-up to my earlier remark about Road Magnet "ignoring" me. I got a message today citing a family emergency as the reason for a delayed response, and that they would be willing to ship to Canada. I had requested USPS, and they said they could get me a price to do it. It's a shame I already have shop time booked, or else I might have taken them up on it. Any other Canadians looking at the Road Magnets might find this interesting however.
