Tuesday, April 10, 2007 3:46 PM
so today i took off from work with an upset stomach. got feelin better later in the afternoon and got bored so i decided to attempt painting a little....
anywho, nothing all that amazing. pics speak for themselves basically.

(and yes, bay is very dirty... its a 2200.... lol)

little closer

after some paint...

and installed...

close up of the jbo sticker (i kinda like this look... "stealthy)

anywho, thats all... i plan on doing the valve colver as well sometime.

C&C welcome!!

EDIT: and so you know, i am going for the "Stealthy" look in my engine bay. no need to make anything stick out really.

You can't powder coat exhaust components. Needs to be JET or ceramic coating equivalent.

Actually you can powdercoat exhaust, but you have to get the special high heat powdercoat.

The ceramic coatings actually serve a purpose, though, which is to keep more of the heat in, keeping the engine bay cooler.

streetdreamsz: i used dupli color engine enamel spray can. semi gloss i believe. it says its tested up to 500 degrees. i drove to the bank today (30mins) and then to the body shop where i worked on my dent (10-15 more minutes) then to a friend-of-my-dad's house to see if he could get anymore (15-20)minutes and it looks just like when i left the garage. hopefully it stays that way!! lol

kase: [sidenote] i always get excited when i see you post someting in one of my threads cuz your car is what inspired me to keep it stock] Thanks! i wish i could say i clean my bay that offten! hahahah

UPDATE ON THE DENT: i didnt take any pics i can tomorrow if you'd like, but i got a decent amount of the dent out today. id say 50% of it. at least it looks A LOT better. the only problem is that the worse part of the dent is RIGHT behind the rear quarter reinforcement (if youve ever taken the back interior panel out, youll know what i mean). i mean, it is DIRECTLY behind it. so its really hard to get to with a hammer. the next day i have off, i plan on goin in and finishing it with a rail gun.
