i cant wait for all of ours to be done.. but of course SOME of us are way far behind

god paul, you could have my cover done in like 30 mins, its like the ultimate perfect shape, nice n flat!!!! take an orbital sander with like 800-2000 grit paper to it for a few mins, then hit the bastard with the buffer wheel and it would be PERRRRFECT!

here's what i got done in school today after some kids blew a power aid bottle up with some propane and a torch loud as hell.

Still a lot of work left polishing really sucks.

Couple helpful suggestions for polishing.

Use a dremel with a medium grit the fine grit then buffing wheel for in between the plenums.
When you get to the last stage. Use mothers polishing buff it out, then use 2000 grit then polish again with mothers and keep repeating until is a mirror.

it will look like this if you follow that process.

Those pix were all just before i finished it... i ended up removing the letters and getting it to have zero imperfections. Unfortunately i did not get any pix

you should consider trying a polish with a wax in it. Mothers works great but it has a karoseen in it and will strip any waxes out if it is waxed. And if you leave it with just the mothers it will corrode. Use a jewlers rouge or something like that. White would be the best finish with the jewlers rouge.

so iam thinking about putting a transparent paint over it after its all polished.
Jesse photoshopped the color in for me just to get an idea.

What do you think.

Iam really leaning towards this one but we'll see.

Looks rally good. Polishing anything cast like that takes so much work. I applaud your patience.
