so i am done with school for the summer, and it is time to start the summer project. more pictures will come tomorrow.
for now here is a pre-picture
and some new garage blingage
yeah i know last nights post was stupid so here are some actual pictures. sorry about being an idiot.
basically i am making a set of eylids because i have most of the materials in the garage to make them myself and i am too cheap/ poor to spend 80 bucks on some.
well i go the headlights masked off last night.
laid glass this morning around 7 or 8 am.
10:30 removed the pieces,
this is the progress as of noon. so i hope to be doing some sanding this evening. i want to have these done by friday.
little problem is that i have three layers of glass right now and there is just too much twist to the parts. should i add more layers or use a fiber reinforced body filler on the them to strenghten them up
well for the twist in the parts...how many layers did you use?
I suggest instead of using the mat, you should do it again using cloth! Cloth is a lot stronger than the matting. build up 5 layers of cloth and it shouldn't twist at all.
if cloth is the woven stuff then that is what i used i will add a few more layers to it and see if that helps.
They are just eyelids, I doubt they need to be super duper extra strong..........
