back on the road again!
Friday, May 25, 2007 6:29 PM
welp, after a very long winter i finally got the car ready for this year's fun season. i did quite a bit of work to the car and i'm pretty exited to take it to the first show next weekend. i know the pics dont show much, but believe me, underneath the panels is a different story lol. i spent just a little over $6000 over the entire winter on it and took my time and did things right to the best of my ability. the car had a bunch of just used up stuff and all of it looked nasty so it needed replaced. everything i bought was brand spanking new or reconditioned to be for the car. i FINALLY got it dropped, after being a j owner for 5 years now i never got to drop either car until now... i couldnt be happier, the ride is excellent and the stance is awesome. i do have a lot of shoring up to do yet, theres a few alignment issues with my trunk lid that i need to iron out this week, but other than that the car runs perfectly and is awaiting a nice summer of enjoyment!

questions and comments are more than welcome!

and my fave pic of the day:

Looking good Brad 1000X better than when i saw it on jack stands this spring. i think you should keep the inner blacked out tail and put the stock red ones back on the outers maybe not just an idea.

ebay man! $80 shipped IIRC they suck balls when it comes to fitment, i had to do a ton of slotting and drilling to get them to fit at least CLOSE to what they should be. its seriously the best they could be.

idk about these yet... im either going to get 00+ toyo's... stockers, or leave them.

ultimatly what i WANT to do is paint the lid body color and leave the center (same size as rk sport bezel) CF, keep the black inners, and nightshade my sunfire sedan outters... (it would all be the exact same size) and it would be a black stripe across the back.. idk yet tho... we shall see when next years moolaa comes in

also cant decide on building up my forged motor and turbo... or a paint job. help me decide.

looks good man. i think some 99 toyos would really set off the rear.. the blacked out ones kinda throw off the rear..but otherwise very nice.

lol, well... i meant within a couple weeks... shoring up some issues yet.

on a side note i got my trunk lid to fit about 95% perfectly, with the front corners up by the rear window the only problem areas as they stick up about an 1/8th of an inch to much, other than that.. i actually got the tail light lines to line up better than my stock trunk lid did!!

i also tried a little trick that i dont think anybody has done as of yet. i took out one of the torsion bars, heated it up with a torch and twisted it just a little bit, put it back in and now the lid doesnt fly up like a rocket on steroids. it comes up just like stock did.

oh and i DID have the bars set on the lightest tang and it still flew up like no other.

Wow Z yaaaa, That is looking DAMN good! When is the next JBOI meet? I'm in minneapolis now, but am definently willing to make a trip back to Iowa for JBOI meet! I love the headlights, the black windsheild banner, and those rims are looking sexy. The only thing I would change is take off the muffler and get an Oval Magnaflow muffler or maybe Borla. Something more performance like. Keep up the good work!

im keeping the muffler, BUT... next year im putting my 02 z24 rear bumper and lip on, so all youll see is the tip coming out of the exhaust hole. believe me, i hate the muffler... but i LOVE the tip. with the new bumper, u wont see the muffler at all.

as for JBOI meet, i wouldnt know.. ive never been to a one yet. us guys over here in the west are going to be putting something together sometime this summer tho, its GOT to happen.

thanks everybody for the great comments!!!!!
