Wounded Warrior Run - Germany!

Today was the 3rd Annual Wounded Warrior Run!! What is it? Several local car guys get together and we all head down to Landstuhl Medical Out Patient Clinic where Soldiers from Iraqi Freedom are recovering from injuries down range. This is the place most may know as the evac point for Soldiers down range. Through coordination with the Chaplain's Office, we get to take them out on a cruise through town and then hit the autobahn for a little fun time before heading up to the medevac site where most of these guys came in!!

While there, the guys get to look over a helo since they may or not remember being on it and we all get to snap a few pics ourself.

After the cruise and evac site visit, we head back to their barracks and have a big BBQ with them and talk about cars, family and anything else they want to talk about!

It's a blast and they are as excited as we are to do this!! Brian was my Soldier today and he's in a couple of the shots (in the helo and giving the V sign out the passenger window!). Other shots are of my car, the wife's Mini S and a few of all the guys, their cars and couple of my wife and I. There was a total of 25 Soldiers and 17 cars to cruise in.

So enjoy the pics as these guys had a blast today and typically they just sit around waiting to go back down range and to be able to get out and enjoy a day of cars and cruising...plus a BBQ...was a huge treat not only for them...but for us too!

Brian is 20 years old and he was excited as heck and said he use to own a 97 Sunfire but it wasn't anything like my car!!!! We did a few pulls on the the autobahn he was smiling about as big as he could smile!! He was super excited! He's been in Iraq for 9 months until he was injured. He returns in a few weeks and has another 4 months or so before he gets to come home.

On with the pics....

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?

It's been a blast as no one knows what it is! Hard to mod though...just no one around who knows anything about them!!
It's been good too as I've had to learn on my own which in the end means I've done the work myself!

Great up to 108! I've never removed the speed limiter as it doesn't run 108 plus in the 1/4 mile...so see no sense in it yet.

Did a couple pulls against a LS1 Camaro while we were cruising to the medevac site and I pulled on him from 85 all the way to 108!
He of course passed me then but he was surprised it pulled on him...actually a lot surprised!!! Me too though...didn't think it pulled that good. I had a couple car lengths on him still when I hit 108...I baby my car though so not ever really got on it hard!
