Before anyone asks, this is not a headlight swap for my car. Its for someone elses Sunfire. I worked sparringly on this over the weekend while my girlfriend actually fibreglassed my sub enclosure. I think I worked on it for maybe 2 hours Saturday, and a couple more on Sunday, with breaks to keep my puppy entertained frequently. The headlights are 94-00 Integra jdm 1 piece lights if anyone was wondering. On to the pics.
I cut the fender roughly for the headlight and did a quick test fit.
I glassed the ledge so that it was longer, since the headlights were longer.
I gave the ledge a really good sand, then used some short strand to get the shape.
and finally, some filler to smooth things out a bit. Hopefully I'll get some more done tomorrow and I'm hoping to have the bumper ready to prime in a few days.
looking good, what are you doing to get the end of the fender to line up? I just started working out at a body shop before I start college this year for auto body.
I'll just mock up the fenders on the car, then weld in a patch of metal cut from the bandsaw at work which wouls be a clean, to-shape, cut. Thanks for the comments so far guys.
I hope it fits when you install everything onto the car. What are you doing to ensure a nice alignment?
are you going to have pics of the hood too??
SOLD....
I'll put pics up of the hood whenever I get to workin on it. Its just a stock cav hood. and the lights actually follow the same contour as the cavalier does.
looks like fun! cant wait to see it finished
you got skills. That looks like its gonna turn out awesome.
very nice look should look real good. props on the work so far
it looks like your molding a 'teg bumper to the car... and not the 'teg lights to a sunfire bumper, right? looks awesome.

yes azncavi is right. The lights are the jdm style 1 piece lights, the bumper is a cavalier buddy club 2 bumper. I have tomorrow off so I'll be back out there working on the swap some more. Hopefully I'll have the passenger side of the bumper done tomorrow and the driver side pretty much done as well. Thanks for looking and leaving comments everyone
