Oddly enough... that's exactly how I started... fart can on a stock grey bumper, and honda autozone intake.... Exact one! Work in progress like you said so looking orward to further progress...

I def. wanna get a kit for the whip and a z24 kit would be just fine for me. I also wanna get some rims possibly 16's or 17's max along with new struts and springs to drop it some. Really I'm not looking for too much speed really just some good handling. Strut and sway bars would be nice but I don't know what I need or don't need as far as that is concerned.

Besides the short ram intake and the catback exhaust I also have slotted and drilled rotors along with premium pads for the front.

Appearance wise I'd like to get the clear corners along with the clear brake lights with the led bulbs for all. I was also thinking about the m3 mirrors but I seen a pair on a 4 door and they just didn't look centered off right. Kinda weird but I actually like the red and clear brake lights I already have on. Def. a fan of the halo projector lights but they are just too much right now and not needed till I do some other stuff. Any suggestions?

I completely agree with scratching off the word "whip" but a z24 kit would look really good but as far as the clear corners if I were you I would wait until you could get the one piece (headlights/corner) that are halo lights as well there are awesome! Just one more idea, you could wash your car before taking pictures..haha but good start and have fun with it

and the H is for?

Please don't call a car a whip. It's a lame slang term that was popular for about 5 minutes.

Back on point, the car has potential if you take your time on it. If you don't have the cash for a kit yet, sand the grays smooth and take them to get painted to match the car. You should be able to get them done in a single stage black for cheap, and it will definitely improve the look of the car, and you'll probably be quite happy with it like that while you do your other mods.

Then I would say skip all the little crap like clear corners, etc, and start saving for your rims and suspension. Every time you spend $25 or whatever on a minor thing, it just puts your big stuff off longer.

Props on liking the factory tails too. Swapping factory tails out for Altezzas seems to be one of the first thing people do when they start modding their first car, and then later on they take them off.

Let the guy call his car whatever he feels like calling it.
I assumed he meant Work in progress, seeing as how thats clearly what he stated in his thread title.

This is a cool website but some of you are a just little too serious. Anyways, I appreciate the tips on the bumper. That def. sounds like a good idea. I gonna take that into consideration. Some body was say that they have a 1 piece head light with the side marker attatched. Will that fit my year though?

As far as I know, the only one piece is the LED/halo projectors. They will fit your car. Other that those, if anyone has one piece units, they are custom.

I'm Just a cat from NYC holdin' it down in Vegas. Oh yea, I kinda like my fart can but maybe I should take it off because some of you don't like it. Right away !!!!! Funny ppl on this wesite. congrats on the kid and starting on your family. I'm glad to hear you wanna put that first, unlike most of the guys on here that still live with their parents and all they do is throw money into their cars, I understand your situation. I don't have a kid, yet, but my girl is kinda pushing for one and I know sooner than later I will end up forking one over and thats when all hell brakes loose!

I did however just buy my first house so I am pretty strapped financially.

Don't mind the fart can, I'm not a fan but its not my car. I do believe that it will look better once you put a kit on it. The lower valance will bring it into place more. People are always selling stuff in the classifieds area of this site, I have gotten rims and such here. You should rummage thru. Also if you are looking for a z24 kit try car-part.com. Its a website for junkyards and are always helpful. I have ordered quite a bit thru that site from various yards. Of course eBay is always helpful. If you are new to the sport compact scene be weary of awesome deals on eBay "supercharger for 69 bucks." "Get 20hp for 20 bucks" etc etc. If you have any questions you can always email or PM me, I've been around for quite some time and have soaked up a lot of crap from this site.

Yes some people, well, a lot of people on this site have something to prove to themselves. Others just have a bad way of giving constructive criticism. Take it with a grain of salt and you will get by just fine. Also, try and find a site for GM cars around your area, maybe you could hook up with some of them. Make friends and learn more hands on.

good luck man.

and don't let this one post get you down about this site. You could learn a lot.

Oh, and also, cavalier LS verts came with 2.4 motors as well. I just picked one up off eBay a couple months ago for my girl. Had to replace the top and the clutch but hey, she loves the convertible idea. See what you can find.
