help with a change
Friday, July 20, 2007 8:44 AM
I have an 01 cavy with the 03 trunk and tail lights but I want to do something a little different, like maybe remove the chevy symbol on the light bar but am unsure how it comes off, and maybe black out the tails or paint them body colour except for the round parts of the lights? any suggestions would be really helpful..thanks

here is the only pic I have of the rear right now I will post a couple more latr today or tomorrow, sorry for it being in black and white, oh and btw my car is silver

i would say if the chevy/bar deal doesnt come off to sand it down flush, then paint the bar black with the backup light circles left alone, or nightshaded, then nightshade the outters.

Remove it and call it a day. Or black out the bar EXCEPT the whole part that looks like the 95-02 light, the arrow head looking thing. I find when that thing gets deleted or covered up it just cuts the tail light line harsh and doesn't look right.

if you take off the chevy bar it looks like this

it's real easy to take off ! It's only glued

or instead of doing all of that he could just take it off and get the cf truck piece and paint the tails if he wants to

imo painted tails dont look good.

yeah that would cool but is it just glued? I have seen others remove theirs but they only had the short chevy symbol not the one I have that extends really long

Yes it's held on with the same double sided tape that your side moldings/emblems are held on by.

Fishing line, and some rubbing, you're done.

oh i didnt realize it was just stuck on, i figured it was just part of the mold. cool.

goo gone works the best on all the glue, and residue from the double side stick tape

It looks like crap without the bowtie. If you really want to change it, get the cf panel, otherwise leave it the way it is...
