First off, I have a HUGE list of people that need to be thanked before I do anything,
My first run down the track I decided to keep the 19s on just to see what she would do... Well she broke, and broke good
the track was still super sticky at the low end, and I wheel hopped BAD, before i could even process the thought to let off the gas through my brain, BAM something snapped.. looks like i took out the passanger side axel, and that took the diff with it..
the amount of people who helped me push my car back over to my spot, and imediatly started working on my car was overwhelming, and then even came back to the track after we had already left to help push it on the trailer. So if I forget one of you, It is not intentional, there were just so many of you I couldnt possibly remember all of them..
first the guys from Canada.. Darren (gtp sunfire) and chris (sweetness) I swear I have never met a Guy from canada that wasn't uber nice, and these guys take the cake.. these guys were in there before we even stopped pushing the car.. I swear they wanted it back on the track more than I did...
Then the guys from J-bom, help with pushing, and the use of their tools, Clyde jumped under the car ( he is even smaller than me ) to help pull my axel out, and got a face full of hot axel grease as a thank you.. and never missed a beat..
the guys from wisconsin, chris ( GAVE me an axel ) like seriously, who does that anymore? Dugan, and brian also came on over to help try and figure things out..
PJ, thefake05, the gxp project, Geeds, Chewey, chad, and many many more also deserve a big thumbs up... Like I said, I am so overwhelmed with the amout of people who were willing to throw in a hand to help that I couldnt possibly remember all of their names..
And an even bigger thanks goes out to Paul, his Friend Danny, Danny's dad, and girlfriend, for coming out to the track at like 9 or 10 pm, loading up my car, and taking it home.. I swear, I had Barely even met this guy earlyer that day... and he was there with one phone call to drive my car back home...
And last but not least I have to thank Shannon... She sat back and watched me thrash on this thing for 4 weeks, barely doing anything else, just to take it out and break it on the first run down the track, and never said a word.. If it made me happy, she was happy.. It is rare to find that, so I have to thank her too
I am still amazed at the quality of people that are on this board, and show up to our bashes, and is a big reason of why i continue to visit this place on a daily basis, and will never miss a bash..
So a BIG THANKS! goes out to all of you that showed up, If I missed your name please pat yourself on the back, and shake your hand for me..
Now onto the bigger story..
The bash itself..
PAUL is the man.. this guy got so many things thrown at him threwout the weekend, and never missed a beat, for those of you reading the comments by a few of the whiners... ignore them, this was buy far the BEST bash I have ever attended.. I know through conversations Paul and I had, we wanted this to be about the people, and bringing them together to share and interest.. and I belive Paul pulled that off.. I for one had a GREAT time, even with the storm, and breaking the fire, I wouldnt have changed a thing... I even came back after my car got towed home to hang out.. Thank you Paul, and I will be back next year, you made it happen, I don't go to the bash to win a show, I don't go to win a race, I go to hang out and have a good time, And this bash was just that!
Also thanks to all that voted for the Xsiv Fire... Never Expected to place in the wild class, let alone take 2nd!
