A Humble Start...
Wednesday, August 01, 2007 10:23 PM
Hello all, been trolling about for a bit now and finally have gotten around to posting some pics of my car...

Had her a little over a year now,

Started out....

Then added stuff...

Now I'm up to this...

Next on the list is either an ecotec, or a combination of building the 2200 and AGX/prokit with 17's But ecotec would come first over the rims and drop if i got a good deal on one.

C&C welcome The GT stickers, much to my dismay are'nt coming off.. the rear one did but the pass side has a paint line that ended under the stock pinstriping, but the paint seems to have been painted post GT stickering so I would essentially have to repaint at least the door panel to get rid of the stickers entirely, I might as well stick with a black and white theme and just run with it.

Oh and just for everyones knowledge, I already should have a set of Toyo tails (95-99 style) on the way, and do plan to black the insides of the corners like i did with the headlights.

This is what i USED to drive...

Ohhhh better days, better days...

eh cheer up bud, glass half full right? Your gonna save a bunch of $ on gas so you can save up and buy another one some day. And just think how sweet the new ones are gonna look!

I kinda like that front & rear lip kit with those side skirts. Don't believe I've seen that one before...

I keep wondering how it would look with 18's & lowered.

Thats a Razzi kit, Came stock under the "dealer rice" option.

I honestly hate the sides but I am kinda the type to work with what I got rather then doing something drastic (meaning yes I may make a frugal attempt at helping the LN2 be fast...)

If I can find something more subtle for the sideskirts that would still flow I would be inclined to keep it more happily. What I would love would be like an 02 LS lip kit that I could get painted in a black to carry the B&W theme that I think I might go with on this car.

Most people have not seen the older razzi kits like mine, and I know they weren't terribly popular but hey, at least its not base bumpers with non-existant sideskirts...

I cant really take the stickers off unless I get the pass side door repainted since it seems that it was repainted at one point and they did a half ass job at it and used the pinstripe as the break line instead of blending the paint. So I ended up with a paint edge under where the pinstripe was on the door and quarter and the GT sticker is actually on the bottom layer of paint so if I took it off there would still be the GT outline from the layers being uneven. Something that I would do if I could, but not exactly excited about repainting a door.

03 - 05 ls sport sides would flow nice with that front and rear. See if a body shop can take the stickers off and just reclear the area with some clear coat blend to take car of the low spots where the stickers were. Worth asking anyway, looks good man.

Repainting the outside of one door shouldn't cost too much especially if you take the door off yourself to save on labor, I'd get a quote before ruling it out completely. But the GT stickers actually look good to me, they're a bit much for a 2200 Cav lol but they fit for some reason imo. I've never seen that kit before but it looks pretty good, a very good start. I'd really look into some 17s or 18s to compliment the kit as far as your next step goes.

Just one thought.... Maybe I woulda got the Ecotec in before buying header and exhaust on the 2200....

Keep up the good work! Rims and lowering will set it off.

wasp: I actually have been looking for Z or LS sport sides lately, I'd love to do the full LS lip kit though so I can do it in black to tie it in with the GT emblems. I just dont see many people doing a subtle two tone scheme like that and it can really work nice.

These are the rims I'm planning on getting which will follow the AGX/Prokit 1.4" drop.

Factoryphreak: I did think about that now, at the time I did'nt really want anything to do with the eco. But now I'm kinda torn between building the 2200 and just getting the eco and having some NA fun with that.

That is a nice exhaust setup there. I would hold off and find a eco. I doubt you will be dissapointed.

PLEASE get me pics. Im assuming this is an 01-02 LS package? (just the lips for front and rear as opposed to the 03-05 which is full bumpers.) If, it's in good condition I honestly would completely take you up on it. The only damage on this is just a little bit of scrapes (nothing more then usual) underneath the front lip. (Nonvisible part)

check your inbox, you have mail.

Wade: Thanks for the comments, I love it, nice and subtle, and yet I got away with all tone and plus, all the mufflers are straight through glasspack style. Only the best!
