Odd request, but i need 00-02 sunfire front end off pictures

I need to prove to a guy who is doing my body work that the crush gaurd they have order is the incorrect one. He does not believe me that they differ from GT models, so he is saying that my bumper is messed up and not the guard. If anyone that has done a swap or taken the front bumper off their 00-02 sunfire that is not a GT please post it or e-mail it to me at dfan013@yahoo.com

look up j2envy , carrie is doing a swap on her SE sedan and GT , not sure if its done yet or not

if you catch her before , you can prod get her to take pics of both

Phantom Cavalier

I did a 2000 Sunfire SE Sedan front end swap to a 2000+ Sunfire GT front end, I just slipped the GT bumper right over the exsisting energy absorber/crush panel and the rest bolts right up, no modification of the SE absorber was required, and it's nice and tight. You will have to get GT wheel well splash sheilds to properly support/protect the front end. Hope this helps a bit.

i have a 99 se and am about to put on a 99 gt bumper... do i need the splash shields as well??

Yep, Eric's right. I will be swapping the front bumper from the GT over to the Sedan and vice versa. As a matter of fact, I will hopefully be doing it this weekend because Eric just informed me that I can swap the entire impact bar which is held on by bolts, as oppose to having to drill out a bunch of rivets and then re-rivet everything to swap the crush guards themselves. I will gladly take pictures of both crush guards for you this weekend

. If you happen to need pictures of anything else pertaining to this swap, please don't hesitate to ask.

if the guy that is doing your body work doesnt have a way, or cant figure out that the crush guard is different on different bumpers,

you need a new body guy

unless your guy is just a backyard mechanic, shouldnt he be able to tell what he needs by looking up the part numbers or calling the dealership? i mean its not like its a complicated process. any parts book will list different #s for the different years' styles.

ive yet to put my splash gaurds back in wich im glad since we had to switch fenders today. only real downside to not having them is yoru bumpers going to flex allot more while driving. and well of course splashes.

I have wanted a Sunfire Sedan for a long time. After searching online for quite a while I finally found one with low mileage and all the options I wanted, minus the ECO, but I'm not too concerned with horsepower anyway, so I figured @!#$ it and I proceeded to make two separate ten hour round trips to Eau Claire, Wisconsin just to test drive it and then buy it and bring it home.

All the aftermarket parts, minus the exhaust, will be switched over from the GT. Some of the factory GT parts will be swapped over as well including the front bumper, steering wheel, shift knob and e-brake handle.

The Sedan will basically be the four-door version of the GT, minus a few things here and there, but I can guarantee you it will be just as sexy and clean as the GT
