What is, The Ultimate Braking System?

The answer (by my definition):

1) You don't need 17's or bigger to fit the brakes.
2) You can still run a spare tire donut that fits in the trunk well.
3) You don't need to spend tons of money to get.
4) You can still use the stock abs/MC system (although a slight booster upgrade would help, but that's what we men have legs for)
5) You have a complete brake setup that no one else on the planet has.
6) You rival the brakes on your mom's new BMW 5 series .

On with the pix!!!!

Fronts: 12 x 1-1/4" Brembo discs with Hawk HPS pads, using W/G/C-body single piston calipers. (NWF swap)

Rears: 11-1/4 x 7/8" Brembo discs with Hawk HPS pads, using upgraded Daytona calipers. (Daytona vented disc swap)

Total: A badass braking system that cost me wayyyyy too much time, but was oh so worth it. Brakes like a mother @!#$.

It looks like you have 2 different bolt patterns, will only work if you have the rims with the t patterns though(I know they are common, just odd to have the two patterns on the same car) nice though

The front is the NWF swap that you can find in the suspension forum. The rear is similar to the neon swap that you can find in the suspension forum. The difference is that you need to change ebrake cable length, hack off the ebrake bulge, swap sides, notch out the car side hub face, cut some of the springs, and a few other things to make it work . But, good luck to anyone who wants to try to do this specific rear setup because they are ULTRA rare to find.

And yes, two diff bolt patterns (hence the dual pattern wheels). The hardest thing about the front swap was getting the damn CV boot clamps tight, I leaked grease for WEEKS, and took apart the front about 15-20 times trying to fix it. Ended up siliconing the bitch together.

I currently have a daytona setup though sitting in my garage that someone has bought but hasn't paid for yet.......=)
and I also have my old neon setup on ebay....its a little hefty in price, but i need the doe....... =(

A little more on the bolt patterns - MOST wheels I've found that are dual pattern are either 100/114.3 and 108/115. I obviously chose the 100/114.3 set, and got me a good set of hub rings. When tightening the wheels, you can definitely feel a small amount of resistance, but so far I've had no issues, and no vibration at higher speeds.

And i realized i made a typo - the rear discs are Raybestos PG Plus, not Brembo. Almost no one makes these rear rotors.

I <3 my brakes

What do you do if you get a flat in the front? Will the spare still fit those different patterns?

move the rear to the front, and put the donut on the rear. donut's on these cars should always be on the rear regardless.

Nice, but the Ultimate braking system is stock size slotted rotors and ceramic pads. Stock rear drums. I think I can out stop you!

^ I doubt that, especially at highway speeds. 80-0 is not a joke anymore. And fade after continuous stopping is non-existant.

I'd rather have the big brake/rear disc conversion.

Good job though. Sounds like a lot of work.

I'd like that setup but with 5x100 all around. I like my stock Z24 rims.....

I think the grand prix has a set of wheels very similar to the older Z24 wheels like yours

I have 50% of that swap and would like 114.3 all the way around myself.

To the OP, just the N body swap alone was worth it for me, even with the crappy cheap pads im running currently. I have an idea for later tho, IF I keep my cavy long enough to implement it.

luke, i ran into the same dilemma. unfortunately, 1) you would have to bore out the wheels, 2) you would need to redrill your hubs and rotors for the 5x100 pattern, and 3) most importantly, the caliper wont fit under the wheels anyway. thats why i specifically went with the new wheels i bought, because they match the z24 wheels. i already had one guy confuse them w/ the z24 wheels.
