My latest addition
Thursday, August 16, 2007 4:07 PM
After nearly five years of the OHV (and 110k miles), I decided to upgrade. That, and it was a hell of a deal (Trevor aka The Driver).

Looks like someone is jealous back there

I'm dying to drive it...i dont have it registered or insured as of yet. I drove it a little the night i got it - its basically a stock eco, but it still blows my OHV away on top end.

Exterior will pretty much stay as it is, except for Scion TC rims once i get them machined.

For performance, im really leaning toward P&P head (patriot or otherwise), triflow cams, poly mounts (included with the car), 3" exhaust, weapon r header, and GMPP supercharger with HPT tuning to 7k rpm. That should hopefully keep me happy until i upgrade again (LE5, anyone?)

Nice car, what's with the mustash?

I really like the way the filler plate was painted, looks really good. What needs to be machined on the TC rims?

I kinda like it, its takes care of the boring base model front bumper.

I read here that the TC rims have a smaller hub bore than the JBody hub, which would mean if you size up the rim, the face of the back of the rim would not touch the surface its supposed to mate up to (drum in rear, or hub in front), instead, the round nub of the hub would touch the diameter of the inside of the rim.

Now I only read that here, and i have not test fitted them yet. Bolt pattern is correct though.

Updates - swapping over my addco sway bars and koni shocks/struts to the eco cav. I have a week off work for vacation, so i dont really need to drive.

I started the rear yesterday. Went ok, except i found the tire shop cross threaded one of my lugs on the red cav, so i got four in the passenger rear, and the previous owner of the red cav cross threaded the bolt that holds the strut mount to the shock. Ahhhh... I didn't think this would go perfectly did i??

Good by dropzone, hello koni

Rear almost done

looks like a fun project car.....

TC and Celica rims are the same bolt pattern as the J-body (as he said) but they have smaller hub bores then the J-body. I had always wanted to use Celica GTS wheels on my car, just could never find a place to have the hub machined for a decent price.
