Had to ghetto rig some reverse lights up to pass inspection, dont look so bad prolly keep em...
Got the boost controller in and wired up... (almost there...)

i thought about that, held em up to it, and thought it looked kinda funny, as well as held them up to a few spots on the bumper and it all kinda just looked weird to me. i figured id try to tuck em up there to keep it a lil more clean/less obvious. but they are very bright, better than stock as far as that goes lol.

Not sure if that was a serious question or not but that is a stock 00-05 shift knob. The sunfire one is actualy a wraped knob whereas the Cav knod is a pile of crap plasticy thing.
Its actually leather... but yea its stock
I like it, just wish the shifter was a bit shorter.
Reverse lights didnt pass inspection attempt #1
put in a led strip straight across the back...One of the ones that are really skinny and are barely noticeable

yea i wired them up this weekend so id have reverse lights cuz i havent for about 6 months now... and because they arent in "factory location" the kid couldn't pass it... so im kinda stuck cuz i dont want to rewire everything back to stock trunk/lights... then switch everything back again. i was supposed to start turbo tear down tonight, i dont want to worry about exterior lol.
what do you have to pass i say no reverse lights
thats how i had it, but i NEED them to pass... im trying a place tonight after work that is apparently a lil more lenient so we'll see how that goes and if that doesnt happen...........

yeah, i was being serious. i never knew that was stock and now i'm going to get one.
more OEM parts for me! yay.
so 00-05 sunfire would be best to get it from?

well, mines an 02 cavy, and my knob is leather. so you can get it from cavys as well... im not sure what the sunfire one looks like
I've always thought those knobs were pressed on from the factory, so I don't think you can just buy one and put it on. but you never know.

Thats bs, just put the factory trunk lid one to get it through inspection and then put your other one back on after it's inspected.

yeah my 03 has the same knob, its so nice. esp i love how stock shifter height is, just move my fingers forward bout 3" and and i can turn on my maplights on my mirror
I didnt want to have to swap trunk lids (even though luckily enough i still have it if i needed too) but i had already soldered the wires, etc.. i didnt want to have to cut it, tape em up temporarily then re-solder etc...
but the good news is the guy that didn't pass me gave me the name of a guy who is a bit more lenient, all he did was plug me in and give me a sticker... it was a performance shop so they are used to seeing cars that are on the line of passable or not, wicked nice guy. i told him i wanted to get it inspected before i turboed it and hes like "i woulda slapped a sticker on there anyways..". so i got my sticker.
And the even better news is that i parked cavy tonight and i wont be starting it up again until its first start up under boost... XD XD
