Well most of you have seen that I got a new 01Z this weekend. I'm going to be redoing the exhaust this week. I'm going to have to redo the piping from almost the header back due to it is hanging way to low for my liking. I'm not sure if I'm going to order up a cat back and extend it to the front, or do full custom at a shop local to save time and maybe some money. I would like it to be deep and yet quite... I know that is not going to happen, but I want it to sound good from idle to redline. So please since I also car about looks of it can you post up pic's of mufflers with the LS lip on the 00-02 rear bumper... Also if you could list what kinda muffler it is, and what size the tip is if you can remember. Thanks...
magnaflow catback. i think its a 4" tip

No pics, but if you want a nice sorta deep tone with no rasp Id go with an rk 4-2-1, magnaflow or something cat, some kind of res atleast 18", and maybe a dynomax st or something. Or if you dont mind having a cannon style muffler the greddy ti is very deep for a straight through muffler, just search for holloweenxXx's videos.
Ive seen the exhaust on the new z you have and I personally like it. Isnt it a dynomax with a turndown? Looks very stock which I like; is it full piping as well? If so 2.25 or 2.5?? If I were you I would order some piping from customtubes, having a shop do it might be cheaper but its most likely compression bent and looks like complete crap imo
I'll vouch for Steve's Magnaflow. Has a very nice sound.
...not to mention following him the mirror finish blinds you.

Yea I've been looking at that muffler today, but didn't know what size tip would fit in there really nice.

Well to be honest I can't stand the exhaust on the car right now. I told Rob that it would be the first to go. I do like the header on the car, but from there back is going to be replaced for sure this week or at least order something this week. The piping is 2 1/2" as for now. I'm not sure if I'm going 2 1/4" or 2 1/2" since I'm almost sure that the car will not be boosted again for a while. As for the turndown it doesn't look as clean as I would like, and it doesn't line up with the LS rear I'm putting on the car tomorrow.

Hehe I can't wait for the nice clean look of it. I might want to see this greddy muffler, but we will see what I do.
i got the stans 4-2-1 header and the stans 2.5" mandrel exhaust with a resonator and a muffler (brand not known) with a magnaflow 3.5" tip
Do you have any pic's of that around? Cause I really want to see how that fills in that space.
mine with my pacesetter catback
pacesetter header, magnaflow cat, 26" resonator, 2.5" piping from CTI, very large dynomax super turbo, and a 4" magnaflow tip(i think the part number is 35136)
Well thanks everyone. I stopped by Jeg's today since I got off really early just to look around, and I found the same muffler off the catback system. It is a 4" tip and I think this is going to look great. I'm going to put all new piping on the car next month for sure before I put this on cause it is hanging really low before the rear axle. So I will update everyone after I get this thing up to date my way...
