So get to work
.
i looks like fun under there
wow awesome work man, it looks great. We tried that on a honda engine and calibrating those things to go simulatneously was a pain in the rear.
I REALLY want to hear that now. You're evil!
Has anyone gone with ITBs on an Eco yet?

x2. I want to see this done and working successfully!

o it will don't worry After i get this set finished for my car we may be up to making a few kits. Also iam going to be making a top secret piece to make them look P.I.M.P
Don't you guys worry its going to work gonna try and have them finish with in the next week.
Has anyone ran ITBs on a 2.4l before?
Very interesting, I honestly don't think ITB's have ever touched a cav and were running. My only question is are you going to be able to fit the velocity stacks on the ends of the TB's with them being that close to the radiator? Also if you could angle them up towards the hood somemore it might be better because then you wouldnt be sucking in the hot air that just passed through the rad. I know it's not a finished project, just a couple things I saw. Either way awesome work and I can't wait to hear this thing pull through a couple gears.
Good luck tuning those. I could see the limitations of HPT hurting you BADLY with those, so bad in fact that you could dyno less then you did before.
BUT, Goodluck and i REALLY want to see this run and work.
i was thinking about doing this one a 2.4 project but i decided against it because of how hard it is. If you get it figured out that would be great. Good luck and keep us posted!

Why do you think its going to be so hard to tune. Also this is just an experiment I guess if we lose power we'll just pull them off and go with a manifold again.
Just got the tps hooked up. along with vacuum for the brake booster and fpr. maps done. There's a lot of fine tuning left tho. If possible i would like to get them on my stock 97 z for testing sometime next week.
Tuning will be hard due to limitations of spark and fuel tuning past 6400 rpms, and with ITBs its going to want to go REALLY high.
Are you worried at all about flow loss at the coupler transitions?

I think there's a skwirl hopping around somewhere with a similar project?
McLovin wrote:Also if you could angle them up towards the hood somemore it might be better
A bend for that would also help equalize the flow length along the upper and lower runner faces, which does make a difference.

97 huh? I hope it's not one of the speed density ECUs...although I'm sure you wouldn't have trouble finding someone who would be happy to trade for it lol.
fortune cookie say: better a delay than a disaster
wowo complitely crazy I like it
whant a vidoe of your sound
Yeah thats another good point Monkey, and please Paul don't take this as me downing your project by any means because I would love Love LOVE to see ITB's on a cav, but with as short as your intake runners look to be the powerband will be well past what HPT will tune to. You could make some SERIOUS power with those if you were tuning with a full standalone. Good luck with the rest of it and I really hope you get this done because I would love to see the power number just JUMP when these get tuned.
It will be awesome if you can get them working and see a good gain, but you get an A+ for effort!! haha
Good luck with fnishing it up and cant wait to see the result!!
Like i said before its just kinda an experiment if it Gains or at least doesn't lose anything then hey Ill keep them on the car. If not Ill just swap back to a manifold.

Just becaue the intake can "FLOW" more, does not meen the head\rotating assy can. 94MM stroke....
thats high ass pistion speed at 7500.
4625.9842519685035 . Feet per min.....52 MPH... hmmm
that not as bad as i was thinking. ...... with a nice balanced crank\rods\pistions, maby knife edged....
... keep it simple. get a MSD ecotec distributer, and run webbers!......
Nice!

nice man...i was just wondering...what if you just made a custom intake mani. and put like a huge throttle body on that? would it work? i like the itbs and props to ya man i was just tossing this idea around and was curious..
So, what happened to that goofy looking intake manifold you bought? Did you have to hack it up to use anything to make these, or still have it as a backup or something?
Even if it loses you power. I wanna hear it RUN!
