Mean in f&#%in' green

Its chalkboard paint. I kid you not. This was a test spray, to see if it suits the car. I think it's a winner. That, and the theme has now changed to suit the colour. From Sonic the Hedgehog toooooooooooo Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Yep.

Another new thing.. I love the look of the RK Sport Pro-stock wing.. but screw their pricetag. I've got an entire car to finish, not just a part to buy.. so I got inventive. I call it the Z24 Pro-stock wing, haha.

I hacked up the rice spoiler I used to have, used its brackets and some other supports and hung the stock spoiler off the edge of the trunk and flipped up a bit. The result? RK Sport style lip wing without the price tag. And Ive got my 3rd brake light back. No hassles from the MOT.. ..for that at least, lol

What ya think?
(Yes, the spoiler needs adjustment on the passenger side.. otherwise it fits the car like a glove )

I think they need to keep in mind that the picture makes the green look lighter on the back then it probably is... Imagine a chalk board

Interior florescent lighting doesn't do much good for picking up colours properly.. its a pretty rich colour. Not exactly like a slate chalkboard, more like... Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle colour, haha.

I like it. A lot.

Why? When you could have a hot color on it? The car is sick! but not a fan of the paint or the wing. I like hte molded type J rear into the fender flares...that looks real nice!

Mold the rear bumper but dont fix the waves first................................?

Re: Mean in f&#%in' green

Ive fought those damn waves down to the ripple you see there. There were 1 inch gaps under the tail light filler panels before that. Im no pro with bodywork, just patient enough to do the shave work and everything.. the biggest problem was that the kit is a fibreglass copy of the Type J.. and not too exact at that. Once the rest of the bodywork is done, molding the front flares in and fixing little dents and stuff, I'll get some help to tackle that ripple.

color isnt bad but i think the wing looks terrible. it needs to have something under it. it looks like a poor attempt at the prostock wing sorry

yeah im not digging the wing, it looks okay from the top picture but when you see it from the back it just looks like the stock wing is just hanging on there, doesnt look like its sopposed to be mounted that way so just makes it look bad imo. im not a fan of that type of finish, but it looks pretty good. ditch the wing and fix the waves and i think youlle have a winner.

that paint makes me want to puke, im sorry. maybe with clear it would look better?

kinda liking the spoiler idea tho, although i think it needs some work to flow more with the car.

Concept is pretty nice.... only a couple things im really not digging on the car...

Tail lights - hope you are getting something else.... or tinting those. They just dont go with the the rest of the work on the car
Wing - Just doesnt look right... instead of a Pro-Stock style, maybe slide it up on the trunk a little, and see how that would look

Couple things I do like:

Chalkboard paint is awesome. Did it for a show w/ my buddies hood, left the chalk for people to tag it.
Rims - Like the choice, and the color is pretty nice for the green/black that you have going on with the car (IMO)

What else is changing on the car??

I'll have to see it done though to comment further. It just looks out of place right now.

sorry

im definitely diggin the chalk paint. do like ^^^ said and leave some chalk there at shows for people to tag it. other than that, youre on the right track. a little more work and itll look pretty good.

a suggestion for you would be to pick up a stock wing from another car and fab it up to look similar to the prostock or something like that. i have a 93+ trans am wing that im cutting on now and it sits just as far back off the trunk as the prostock, but it also has parts that wrap around on both sides. i was also kicking around the idea of using a 3 piece spoiler from a 1st gen DSM. either way you can pick something like this up cheap at a local junker. good luck with whatever you decide

coming back in 2008...

Since you have a "copy" of the Type-J, just get a "copy" of the Pro Stock, that doesn't look good at all.

You knew my first feelings..............though they changed for the better in your last post where I was digging the molded flares, the Type-J, and the diffuser. Once again you've lost me.

Sorry, wish I could say something positive.

I was diggin the flares, type j, and diffuser, but now the car is just starting to lose its appeal. The tails, spoiler, and paint just ruin it. I think a nice carbon fiber hood/trunk, toyo tails, and a clean white paint job would really do it some good.
