here is what I started with, a set of voixx 17" rims with poilshed lip that were gunmetal but the previous owner decided to paint them black with no sanding or primer
before
now as of today, I sanded all the crappy paint off and whatever else was an issue, then three coats of primer, tomorrow I will wet sand then paint them friday, here is where I am so far
comments and criticism always welcome
too bad you couldnt take off all the studs (or whatever ya call em) and clean those up too
keeping with the black then?
yeah but that is just primer, im gonna paint them metallic gloss black, and yeah I wish I could make all the studs shiny again lol
Good work so far. Cant wait to see it finished up.

thank you, and I also have a transformers decepticon symbol to replace the ugly voxx center cap lol
this is the symbol I will be using, it is being transfered to vinyl then will be stuck onto the center cap
Love the carpet.
Oh yea, nice work on the rims too!
17" rims 215/45/17 Federal tires
and yeah that carpet is great for working on, doesnt matter what you spill or drop, you never find it again
lol
well here are the first couple of pics from the first coat of the new paint
one more final coat then some more wet sanding and then clear
comment and criticism welcome
looks awesome... shiny as hell already eh?
I am very pleased with the way they are turning out, and thats only one coat and no clear so far lol thank you for the compliment
well two down, I will take a couple more tomorrow in the sun
thats gonna look nice on the cav... now i want to redo my rims in black, or even bronze.
Looks nice bro ,I wouldnt mind using the same thing on my stock Z rims for winter, looks like the finish is pretty good
.
.
Hey rich, ill come over tommorow and help you sand the other two.. just gotta be careful when you put them on, the paint will come off easily in the lug holes.
some outside shots, remember I still have to insert decepticon logo on the center cap, but I dont get them for another couple weeks still
two more to go , I just need black tuner lugs now
Looks like you did a good job on 'em. Lookin' forward to seeing pictures of them back on the car.
