Well first thing I worked on was a new box for the Type-R I picked up, its 2.6 cubes at 32hz. I still need to get it carpeted and I have a new amp coming next week till them im using a cheap Legacy one I had laying around just to make sure it all works..
Then I after helping Ben get his engine swapped we had some free time and got my sides on but still need to get strikes on, headlights working, front pulled up, and interior put back together along some other small things, theres still things that need done like get a new tire on the drivers front rim so i can put it back on, and get sportlines on, get the Extractor CF hood back on when the snow is done, black headlights and niteshade tails, and I think friday ill be able to get the new rear crush on, since the rear fits well but sags all along due to the crush not the bumper. Anyways, a little progress was made
Also we got Erics car cleaned out and DVD player wired to a 7" monitor wired into the dash, so thats pretty cool and he got a lot of small things done
Then we got a few shots down the street thought it would be cool to have a few new ones since every stage of both cars we have had a photoshoot lol

that box is waaayyy bigger then 2.6 cubic feet, nice hood btw!
its 37 x15 x 9.. idk how big that is gonna be than, I didnt come up with the measurements when we cut it but thats kinda what i was thinking lol.. The hood will be on next week.. I cant wait to get it on there, as far as Erics..yeah, it needs recleared lol
I know that my car def. has a long way to go but its come a long way also, so i know most of you that dont know me or havent been on here for awhile it looks bad, but you should have seen it before lol, a lot of people remember me for the last couple years of being on here and then I had a nitrous fire last year, and basically had to start over since I had to sell everything to get money to get it runnin again.
.
.
with no port or sub it is 2.077 cubic feet so you might have around 1.5
holy bumper sag eric
i think this is the first time i've ever seen your car karnage
umm I calc the box size to 2.89 cubic ft 37* 15 * 9 = 4995 /1728 = 2.89
Am I wrong or?

Jnickel: hmm.. well ive been around for a while but i dont post a whole lot anymore so its possible you havent, its changed looks alot also
J-Z: Most sealed boxes are smaller, basically but you get louder if you have a ported box and the sub I have has a lot of people running 2.5-3 cubes from what i see at caraudio forums. so we did this one that way, and we calculated right around 2.89 also, maybe im missing something as well, either way... the box does sound pretty amazing WAYYY louder than the small one cube sealed box it came in. Buying a Hifonics 1606 or Alpine M-605 next week. Not sure kinda looking for suggestions on that one.

You are wrong. You need to calculate the INSIDE DEMINSIONS. Subtract 1.5 inches from each measurement. I got 2.09. After that woofer is in it is smaller. It looks so big because he layed it down flat.
@!#$.. it is inside dimensions.. lol well i guess it should be ok anyways.. the box is still really big so I wouldnt have wanted one bigger.

Man, you should hear the 3W6v2 in my 03, it is Crazy how loud it can get. It sounds great too. The box is not that big at all and I have PLENTY of room in there. I'll look up some info on Alpine and see what I can come up with as far as a box goes to fit in there better for ya. I will let ya know.
So, want 2 more Alpine Type R's? lol
Btw, Eric.. that top screen is pretty nice. Where'd you get it
lol... I think i just need the one, Although as loud as this one is, 3 would be pretty insane

Thanks for the screen Scott!!! It works great, Ill sell it back to you for 400!!!

3 of those would not be as loud as 1 because they would be fighting for the air space. you are better off and louder with just 1.
Under Construction
I quit. I almost made a long winded audio post here replying to some of this stuff but i give up. only things i want to say is to the OP. both of you got decent progress, and both got a long way to go lol. that box looks like some thoughts could have gone into cutting and measuring a bit better. and the port looks way tiny diameter wise, getting much port noise from it? and if you are looking for decent reliable power and amps that put out rated power check out cadence. email jason@cadencesound.com and let him know who sent you.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

Yeah, I wasnt the one doing the cutting and im aware about the port size, but it was all made in a few hours with stuff we already had so i could test the sub and he said he could build me a box, and he did it and it is ok but im pretty sure it wont be the final box, it seems as if its bottoming out a lot when i hooked it up at work ( i run the car audio room ) , and if i adjust the frequency it makes it better and sometimes makes it worse, im hoping when i get an amp of my own in a car and maybe adjust it there, dont know if its the sub, box, or amp, but something just isnt right.
I will look into it farther in the next few days, i can get my buddys 12w7 for 300 bucks, may go that route since my other 3 w7s never have let me down or just get an amp for this one

, but ive heard really good things about type rs so I wanted to give it a shot.
As far as the car, mine had a lot more done and was in a lot better shape before the fire and I def. am doing my best to get it done now but ive only been working on it a couple weeks so by the end of summer im sure it will be pretty much where i want it..
Thanks for the comments guys, its all welcome..
its nice to see some of my old friends checking up on me on here

you both ned to hit up a paint booth before you do anything else
it would be good to have all my parts on before i paint it lol.. otherwise that would be kinda silly
Its not really a daily driver so theres no rush so i dont mind it looking unfinished, but compared to where it was people that are following it can def see the progress from a few months ago
