Well I'm attending another show (2nd show in 08) for the weekend, and it's been really good so far. Met a couple of people who come on the .org today, it was good to meet and chat with you guys.
Since my last pictures nothing has changed....except for a new c/f trunk I made. I wasn't pleased with my first trunk lid for a few reasons:
1) got too heavy after all the patch up jobs I had to do to it to get it molded right.
2) the driver's side of the trunk, the c/f lifted up and bubbled while curing and although not many could see it, I could and I hated it! haha
3) I molded the thing without the weather stipping on the trunk, so after I made the lid I couldnt shut the thing with the weather stipping on due to the little extra thickness. It just became a big pain having to remove the stripping each time I shut the trunk.
Soooo I spent 2.5 weeks and I used the trunk I made previously and made a mold off of that. Things went very well and I'm pleased with the outcome this time.
1) It shuts with the weather stipping on this time
2) It's wayyyy lighter
3) My c/f skills improved and I understand it way more now
4) Instead of a seperate enclosure for the t.vs on the underside, I molded it directly to the lid.
I was pretty lucky though, I wasn't sure if I was going to finish in time. I painted it Monday and dropped it off on Tuesday to the shop for clear coat. I picked it up Wednesday evening, installed it Thursday afternoon, and drove the car down Thursday evening. I just made my deadline.
Anywho, enough of my babbling:
Here are some larger pics than I normally post. I have these in high res too.
And yes...I'm missing a bolt on the driver's hindge of the trunklid
The yellow airbag sensor in the front just sticks out like a sore thumb...eww...time to fix that.
And yes....breaks and engine work are coming in time too
holy @!#$ vince! i stoped following your thread and havn't been on here a lot but HOLY @!#$! that is fregging awesome man

that looks really good vince...these pics have helped me decide that this car is that next level I know you was trying to achieve. I am HOPING you can make it to the bash, I'd like to shake your hand
btw...how's your wrist? relieved? lol
Damn... I'm McLovin that all the way!!
These pics really show off the body work. Excellent work! I'd like to see a change to the 1 piece projector headlights. Your current headlights just look tired in there.
Vince, I looked around for you all day yesterday, but you were no where to be found. The new trunk setup looks really good in person man! i was skeptical in the previous pics, but definately looks butter in person!! great job buddy.
and where was Justin? I didnt see him there?
My son and I went to the show on Sat. and saw the car for the first time live.Holy crap, what a nice job.Vince did a fantastic job on this car, everything fits and blends so well.(a very hard thing to do with such extensive mods).
Every one should see this car once in real life.Vince himself is a great guy.nice to talk with and his passion for cars is huge. Thanks Vince for the time.Great car.
Regards
Mike
thanks guys

Joey: I was there all day yesterday. I wasn't near the car too much at all however. I was either at the Street Concepts booth or walking around the show.
yup. I'll be hitting up the bash this year for sure. Me and a few guys have been planning a caravan

Well I would put in the 1 piece headlights, however they will not fit. I actually had to extend the brackets for the corner lenses outwards by an inch to make the corner lenses sit flush with the fenders. If I didn't move them outwards they looked silly being recessed inside.
And yes...haha, my wrist is doing good again. Once I sand I can feel some strain here and there, but instead of going crazy with the sanding, I stop every so often and stretch my wrist out.
The car is sick, and, its my two favorite colors.....
I just have to give criticism on one thing..
The PS2 and DVD player...
You only need the PS2 right? I mean it plays DVDs. It would look less cluttered...
And the way there just sitting there....mold em in.
Im not being an ass dude, i really love your car, and those things just stick out in such a beautiful dash...
this car makes me horny

Well I actually do need both. I have 8 t.vs in the car. 4 play off of the ps2, 3 play off the dvd, and 1 plays off both (depending on the video input). I do agree with the molding aspect. As of right now it's staying as is. At the show I spent enough time drawing, and I've come up with a whole new interior plan. During the summer when I have 1 free month I plan on re-doing the whole thing. Crazy I know...but this new interior will be cleaner, more functional, and better by far.
I just got back from the show and I ended up taking home Best Domestic!
Next show is May 8th - 10th at Importfest. I hope to have a surprise in store for this show.
Yeah...I'll probably just remove the air bag sensor when I install my HIDs I just picked up last week
