ehh.. not too worried about that... i try not to drive if its really s#ity out
SOLD....
Looks good man
Why do they suck in the rain though ?
Did you just use the stock housing, or do you have some type of projectors in the stock housing ?
The blue blends into the road when its wet, hard to explain but I had HIDs for the longest time and it was terrible..
Running those in projectors or stock housing
What kit did you go with?
^^ i meant projectors?.... i forgot the "?" i always wondered how to get a hold of a set.. anyone know how to get some? or how much they are? could be a fun project
SOLD....
SweetnessGT wrote:So... you're running them in a stock housing, which means you have glare to the moon, because there is no cutoff..
And on top of that you picked the kelvin temp. that provides the least light and the most glare-back in situations such as rain, snow, fog, or anything that the light could reflect off of.
That's really unsafe... it's your car do what you want with it but when people pull up behind me with improperly installed HID kits and glare me so badly I can't look in any of my mirrors... well their selfishness is putting ME at risk.
I can understand your excitement but for the good of everybody... take them out until you can get a better kelvin bulb for *yourself* and a better headlight for the rest of us drivers.
Also, before you start up with the "but I aimed my lights down" argument - if you did that then you JUST defeated the purpose of having HID bulbs. They are meant to give you more depth in your night vision, not fill your near-vision up with light. By pointing them down you actually would make the lights less effective.
Car looks great otherwise man.

Hence the problem now with HID kits being so cheap, everybody's getting them and using them incorrectly.
I won't lie, I probably would too, but it was rather annoying seeing a kid with a 1992 stock-ass Saturn posting up his HID's on a local car forum!
I gotta ask what do you do for a living? You sure seem to be dumping a lot of time and money into your car in the last few months.
It is looking awesome though!

haha i work at honda, i am an "express" tech.. doin oil changes, tires, diff. services and such. i dont make the best money by any means, i just dump it all into my car. and also i go to a tech school for body work so i have a full shop with two paint booths at my disposal 4 nights a week and 5 hours a night.. that explain it? lol
SOLD....
Thats cool! Looks like you do good work, Keep it up!
Ive always wanted to install HID's on mine over any of those crappy aftermarket headlight bulbs but I got no projectors = no HIDs.
what kit is that and from where? i need some better headlights...i hate feeling like i cant see whats in front of me until i'm right up on it....i might not get the exact same ones as you, but my car isnt a show car
i got mine from my buddies whole sale catalog, there are similar ones on ebay for around $80, not sure how good they are gonna but i looked at them and they all have a 1 year warranty
SOLD....
They look nice, but it does seem like you need to aim them down some.
I know everyone here is saying that you need projects, but I have both my 01 and the 95 with HID's and aimed them down without blinding anyone. Other members here that are local can say they don't blind you if I'm coming up behind them. I've also let the girl drive behind me to see, and they don't hurt anyone's eyes they way they are aimed. Also GM made headlights in the past without projectors that don't blind people.
Just FYI...
i love my HID's. but i also got 5200K (what the factory installed rating is) and projectors, which to answer your question have to be built. you just get a set of projector lights out of any vehicle and break everything but the projector portion, then figure out a way to install them into your stock housing
they do look good tho, and being that it looks like your car is more show they work well on there.

glad ur driving no where near me....
to me, projectors look ricey. and really, doesnt having to use a projector defeating the purpose of having more light output than stock? i mean it's got that 'cut-off' but how much does it really cut off? i would hope not so much that it's literally pointless to have HID's at that point.

^^ARE YOU F*CKIN' KIDDING ME? PROJECTORS? RICEY?
and Projectors defeating the purpose of having HIDs?
NO ONE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO OWN HID'S WITHOUT PROJECTORS, PERIOD!
HID's give you the reason TO HAVE PROJECTORS, not the other way around. Projectors have a cut off so the glare of the HID doesn't blind everyone else. HID's by FAR out perform STOCK output with brightness and clarity of light....
If you people know this little about headlights, you shouldn't be getting HID's until you study up a little bit more.....
