few ?'s will you still pass your emissions out there? also, car needs a drop hardcore.

Re: Southen California Turbo Cav

GT30R + stock motor... it'll be fun while it lasts

Re: Southen California Turbo Cav

^^Exactly

Also, i see why you went with a .6 bar.. 9psi.. Anymore than that motor goes boom.. I just got me a 1bar spring for my 44mm wastegate... I had a 10psi spring in there and I was limited to my 10 psi kinda..

Build that motor up and have some fun with it

Stock for about a month, i'm building a motor in my garage. It will probably all come together about the same time.

Head:
1mm over ferrea valves -sodium filled
ferrea valvle springs
comp cams turbo grind
gm adj cam gears
titanium retainers
ported and polished i/e

Bottom End
.060 over JE pistions @ 9.0:1 w/ spiral lock wrist pins
2.4L Ecotec Stock Crank
2.4L Manley Rods - Custom
Cleavite77 Bearings
Balance shaft delete
Block studs to head
Block Studs to main girdle
Cometic MLS head gasket
Balanced and Blueprinted by JMS Race Engines
Fluid Dampner Harmonic balancer

Ignition:
MSD DIS-4 HO

Total approx displacement 2.5L
Approx RPM max out 8500 RPM (What they are balancing it upto)

Trans:
Quaife LSD
I also have a 5spd out of a Cobalt SS/SC, going to see if i can pull the gears out and make a close ratio 5spd.
Spec STG 3+ Clutch
Fidanza Flywheel
Driveshaftshop Custom Axles

Other goodies in the future:
Greddy Boost Controller/ Turbo Timer
NX 150hp Direct Port Injection
72lb/hr Injectors
20+lbs boost
... too many to list.

I didnt want to give away all my secrets, but there it is.

And yes emissions here suck, probably the most strict in nation. Thats why i have another junkyard motor and trans with 28k on it (got both of them for $200 total at pick-a-part) =)

By the way, i know. I Spent ALOT of money. Total amount spent thus far with the turbo
$10,500

I love what your doing w/ the cav, i really do don't get me wrong but unless i missed it your going to need more then HPT to tune the car if your using a LE5 crank because of the ring on the crank being a different number.

I want to run the AEM stand alone, so i have to find a way to set up a cam trigger, looks like my power steering might hit the garbage can.

Looks good, can't wait to see the engine setup finished. I've never heard of that brand of rims, but they look really nice. I just checked out more of their styles of wheels and they all look pretty good really.

Re: Southen California Turbo Cav

I don't think the off-the-shelf comp cams turbo grind will continue to make power all the way to 8500rpm, but its nice to know you can rev there if you want to. Not that you'll need to with ~2.5L of displacement, a tubular manifold and a gt30...

If you manage to complete everything on your list, I do believe this will be the most insane eco build by an org member...I'm most intrigued by the LE5 crank!
