Search performance forum.

Basically you'll be replacing the factory sending unit located between the cam towers.

just make sure you have the right thread first. i took the sender unit with me to get the proper thread. like he said it's right between the cam towers, its not hard at all. you can ditch the sender unit or just get a t and t it. it gets pritty bunched up tho when you have a oil feed, sender unit and oil gage. just my $0.02

Its on the right side of the cam tower if your looking at the car from the front. I made a T for it with a feed line going threw my firewall into a dual gauge pillar. if you can get a non mechanical one do it. just makes it a $&*( load easier to do it.

First, locate the oil pressure switch between the cam towers. Disconnect your ICM so that you have room to work.

Here is an easier view and a little closer for you to see where it is located.

Unplug the sensor and get a set of vice grips to remove the sensor from between the cam towers.
Use a towel to take up any oil that may spill.

Here's a pic of the original sensor/ switch removed from the engine.

This is what it looks like once removed.

Here you see the mockup of the components I needed to keep the sending unit away from the cam towers.

1/4 npt male to male adaptor, a 1/4 npt female to 1/8npt female adaptor, going into the double female 1/8npt coupler, and finally the actual sending unit for the gauge you plan to install.

Everything coming together with using teflon tape to keep it from leaking. Use about 3-4 wraps on the threads for the best seal.

Once wired up and tested, here's how mine looks after it's all done.

Good luck with your gauge.
It's a nice piece and gives you all of the information you need on oil pressure.

i am assuming that you have the electric one

cause i have one and the adapter looks like this

Yeah, I wanted the electric and not chance it with an oil line going into the cabin.
They're accurate enough to be used with confidence.
Oh and I did opt for the factory oil pressure switch to not be used so didn't bother with a 't' adaptor.
Good luck.

AH I just hate extensions that long and the risk you're taking with them.

I used a 45' angle that mated the sending unit perfectly yet didn't have me worrying about tension being put on it due to it's construction/length. This also kept the sending unit semi-upright.

If it works though, it works.

i think that i am going to get some copper piping and use that instead of the plastic crap that comes with it

or maybe i will just buy a new electric one, i am not too sure
that one just came in the car when i bought it so i thought that i will reuse it

dont know yet, havent gotten it in the mail yet. hopefully it will come tomorrow though , getting tired of having an empty gauge pod.

oh nvm, i checked it out on glowshiftdirect and said it was a electrical gauge so i guess the adapter will look like that.

Yup, that it will.
You'll now have some instructions on how to do this.
Good luck with it.
