As some people are aware, today was the big day to bolt on my 12" SSBC rear disc setup. Due to my hands getting awful dirty quite often I didn't snap a lot of progress pics, I was just too eager and focused on gettin the job done. I have to say it was dead easy, and surprisingly I had very few issues with nuts and bolts that didn't want to come apart having never been touched in 8 years. There were never any plans to paint the parts, and quite a bit of time was spent on the sandblaster trying to remove all traces of 2 coats of paint. Would have been easier if the first coat wasn't of the powder variety, that @!#$ just doesn't come off without a fight! Big thanks to Deron (BlueDuece) for the copy of the instructions, it was all I needed, and to Evan (YellowCav) for selling them to me!
When I first got them
The cleaning process begins
More cleaning
Did some test-fitting a couple weeks ago just to be 100% sure they'd fit behind the rims, and thankfully there were no issues.
Holy crap what a size difference!!! I shot the hats quickly with some black spray, wasn't too concerned with overspray obviously haha.
Say goodbye, shoes and springs and hold down clips and starwheel adjusters.
Left side complete, now back to the right
Wheel installed, 'bout a half inch clearance between the caliper and my sticky weights. You can see the overspray has vanished, worn away as planned.
We may have a brake bias problem, rears just dwarf the fronts! That'll be fixed within a couple weeks, don't worry....
Coming in 2 to 4 weeks...

very nice...yay for stopping..lol
My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
Lol no I realized I parked on the other side? whatever lol , get the fronts done asap! then u can call it WHOA!
Nice job!!
Told you it was pretty easy! How's the ebrake on your's? Mine is still a tad tight and I've looked at it twice!!
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
Nice improvement Bill. The rear rotors look so much larger than the front stock setup! With all that power, it's good to see you addressing stopping safely.
Let me know when you're ready to line it up again

Darren, you're close, you were on the other side of the big door lol
Deron, I'm actually having a problem with the cables at the rear, not fully releasing. I know why, it's because the cable doesn't move freely enough inside the plastic protective sleeve. I tried to loosen them up before installation, but I didn't do a good enough job. I'll take 'em back off and try again, or just replace them with new ones and the problem will be solved. As far as the handle in the car, when the brakes are released fully it comes up as high as it would if the rear drums were adjusted properly. When they're not released, it comes up about 2 clicks and it's really tight. I've emailed SSBC asking them where I can find new cables, waiting on their reply. How does your brake pedal feel? Did your pedal travel increase, feeling as if there's a bit of air in the lines? I'm not sure if it's because I didn't get ALL the air out (will do another full bleed including abs module) or if it's just because they're discs instead of drums but I don't like the feel of the pedal as much as before I swapped. Other than that, everything appears to be fine and dandy, but I'm going to have to roll my rear fenders. I've already gouged the tires pretty badly, as the tires wheels are pushed out a good half inch or so farther than before with the drums.
Sandeep, I don't have THAT much power, but I'll surely let you know when the first track day is happening. I'll definitely be hitting the road courses this year as well, I'm really anxious to find out how this thing handles with all the other improvements I made last year.

Bill...that's exactly what mine are like...ebrak handle the same thing!! I too emailed SSBC but nothing back so far either.
Brake pedal is alittle softer and lower than stock was....I still find myself thinking "where are my brakes" when I go to push the pedal down...but it's there....just a little lower.
I bled mine twice...all the way around since I did the fronts the same day...no air in there...NONE!! Just the way it feels I think.
No problem with my fenders though? That's odd?

Maybe the offset of his rims?
