@!#$ all these years i was buying speakers for how they sound. guess we should all pay more attention to how they look and throw out any reguards to how a speaker sounds, ey?
and on another note. what the HELL does your reply about wanting a DD sub have ANYTHING to do with this thread?!?!?!
ON TOPIC: god damn/.... anyway... nice to see someone who knows how to take their time with their cuts and make a nice box for a very nice sub. hope you like how it performs for ya.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

thanks for the compliments on the box lol, and yeah this little sub is CRAZY loud so loud in fact that it is equal to or even louder then a buddies 2 12" kicker L7 subs with 1200 watts lol
as far as gas millage goes, it really wont effect it much the box is really small and doesn't weigh that much
You should really face it the other way. and i haope you have a fuse on the other end of the wire too. but nice choice in equipment
I like the box for the sub. "built for brutality" lol. I don't think I've ever seen a RE sub out of a box. That magnet is HUGE! Looks like an awesome set up.

If you face it the other way, the sound takes longer to travel to you... facing it into the car you get more sound/bass.. trust me, Megatron (Rich) has had over 40 setups.. he knows his @!#$

Well apparently doesnt know enough cause evryone knows on here that facing your subs to the back gives more bass. It has nothing to do with taking longer to get to you.
yea doesent he have a wall? or his truck sealed off from the cabin?

well apparently YOU dont know much, by having the sub facing into the trunk only gives you louder bass by ear, by actually facing the sub forward, you get better numbers on a TL and also know whether or not the sub is distorting, and and what does it matter to you with the way he faces it, have you heard it have you won ANY stereo competitions how long have you been involved with installing stereos, how many have you installed that has won comps, cause I know that all the ones I have built and installed have either taken1st 2nd or 3rd places every time so thank you come again,
and thanks for the positive comments from everyone
um Hi Rich, someone who DOES know what they're talking about here. By facing it forward without sealing it off from the trunk, you are creating a lot more issues than solutions. it, in theory will not be louder. But having a friend that you are positive "knows what he is doing" might just make you avoid admitting that or even TRYING what someone else suggests. facing it forward will be quieter and give more cancellation. but i guess these days riding around with a sub blasting in the car is all anyone cares about with a system. who cares about sound quality right? especially with a nice sub capable of sounding great and pulling together a decent set up. but nope, just being loud with a sub is all that matters.
I really am not trying to be a complete ass, but when your "knowledgeable" friend comes in and acts very condescending, it's had not to be. But never you fear, he "always comes in 1st or 2nd" so he knows EVERYTHING about audio and how things work.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.
