I dig the bike, I've been looking for something very similar to make a little cafe racer out of.
^^^ just don't get one like that if you want to save money on gas!!! That 3 cylinder 2 stoke gets the same mileage as a 94 Chevy truck with a 5 litre TB injected engine
Can't imagine doing 140 mph on that bike!
i spy a rear disc swap!

The bike is apparently pretty tame at those speeds. I've never had it past 110mph but my old man had it at 140 back in the '70s before he parked it. Its not too hot in the twisties but its really good on the straights.
The discs are nice.... there the only rear discs on a J in the city i live in
Rear Discs FTW I need some asap! How much did that setup run you?
I bought them used off a fellow .ORG member. they were 100% ready for install (all the machining/modifying was done). i think it was about $400 shipped to my door (that includes border duties). If you need more info on the setup check out the Neon disc swap sticky at the top of the suspension forum.
That bike is a classic. Brings back memories as they were super popular when I was in highschool. Yup, way older then most here ... lol. Don't change a freakin thing on it. I still remember the sound those bikes made under throttle, very distinct.
Not much will ever change on that bike... maybe some fresh paint on the side covers/tank and some of the chrome getting redone. The bike has a huge amount of sentimental value to my dad and me so its gonna stay stock.
2-stroke badassedness right there. Man, I want an old 2-stroke to cafe-racerize
