Well lets see. This summer I was out of show season for a little while with the fact I couldn't get insurance back on my car after I was cancelled.
The other few shows after I wasn't able to attend since I was stuck working on those weekends...oh well.
I've been keeping busy this summer and I'm hardly on the computer anymore and the car has pretty much sat there. I haven't had any interest in working on it anymore and I'm thinking hard about letting the car go now. At the show this Saturday I had a FOR SALE sign up testing the waters to see what kind of offers I could get for her. If someone is interested in the car I will be saying my goodbyes, but until then I'll still be holding on to her.
I have a few shots that I really liked, and who knows...this might be the last show pictures I have of the car...sad to say, but sometimes it's just time to move on.
The car beside me belongs to my buddy Andy (he's not on this site). He just got the car back from the shop the other day and I'll try to get some more shots of his car later on.
Matt...I'll send you all of your pics that you took as well.
I was happy to walk away with a 2nd place win at Importfest
looks good as always, sad to see you're planning to let it go.. plans for another project?

ive never understood how people could put so much time and work into a car and after one season want to sell it. sure, money is definitely a factor.. but if you couldn't afford it to begin with you should have known better. not saying you did that just thinking you should keep it, man! LOL
where'd you get your rear license plate holding thingy?
What give it up you still got so much left to do.
Remeber the fmic in the big open mouth you gave it.
I wondered what had happened to you as always beautifull.
as much as i hated to read that i respect the desicion. ive been down that path twice before. The best part of a build IS the build. waiting for packages to come in like christmas etc. then you get to the point that its finished and its like well now what. you have alot of talent, I hope you continue some sort of work on the next car and goodluck on the sale.
sad to see..very nice car...
Sweet pics and congrats on the 2nd place Vince.
Anyone approach you about the sale?

looks stunning as always man. Kinda sad to hear you might sell it, but when you take a car to that level theres a lot to worry about. Good luck with the sale. Hopefully somebody gives you an offer that account for at least some of that amazing work.
that sucks to hear youre thinking about selling. good luck though.
good seeing you Vince its been a while.. congrats on the win sorry i didnt stop by to say bye but we had to tear down the booth etc.
looks great as usual , been alot of inspiration for my car , and also one my favs on here , im saying you should keep it

I dont think it could be said better.
I have seen this car in person only once, and must say it is amazing. Good to see you are still around.
I am curious what your next planned project is- from my experience, once you have been bit by the modifying bug most dont think about selling unless there are other plans made...

Now with northstar V8, IRS, 20's n 22's
second!?!! pics of the car that took first!??
car is lookin sex!!
the car that took first was hands down amazing. 1st 2nd and 3rd were in the right order this year for once... I think Vince will agree with how the the standings ended up.
hopefully someone will post pics of the J's at the show soon!
out of the entire show, there were 12 J's.... 2 sunfires and the rest cavaliers.
Well my sister called me and started to B($#CH me out..."Vince I read on facebook you're trying to sell your car"!!! haha. Gota love big sisters.
Basically we talked for a while about it, and she reminded me about my dad. At 18 he got a Mustang the first year they came out. He sold it later on, and even until this day he regrets selling it. I know if I sold it I would end up regretting it myself too. That drive home that night after the show and after the show itself... I realized I would miss it just too much. I've had this car way too long and I've put in way too much work into to let it go.
My girl friend agrees and wants me to build it even better. (I think I gota listen to the gf right
). So...looks like this winter my tear down will begin and some new upgrades will come once again.
This was the last show of the year, so I think I'll start my new upgrades this week even since the weather is still nice
.
Thanks for the feedback guys. Matt...get on msn haha
Vince since this post is about bring people back form the dead....... Here I am lol....
It was great to see you all again I had a blast!
Godspeed Here is a link to the car that took first....
http://www.madwhips.com/modified-chevrolet-cavalier-at-importfest/
His name is Aaron... otherwise known as FlipZ24 on this site I think.... This is the first time the car was out for shows since being redone. It was built to compete on the HIN circuit..... Vinces car is amazing thats for sure however its not only body that counts at shows..... Having judged Darknights I can tell you that Aarons got brakes and a Charger setup.....Which would put him slightly ahead on the score sheets.... He might even have more audio in the car I think....... so based on a score sheet for the two cars Aarons I feel would fall slightly ahead......
AND THAT IS NOT TAKING AWAY FORM VINCE'S CAR....... I have seen this build form the ground up....car is amazing.. and I am sure were gonna see some motor work form Vince soon..... RIGHT VINCE?????
But seriously car was looking great made me wanna get to work on mine.... but that won't happen for a long... long.... long time... But I still have her and one day I will work on it again... Vinces congrats on the win well deserved
George
granted that car is nice but it has no where near the custom work that vince has. thats how car shows are though, you win some and you lose some. best part though is just being out there to show your car off. glad your keeping it. i remember way back when you did the cavfire swap lol
allot of custom work doesnt nessicarily when you shows. you have to have every aspect of the car modified. how many modifications youve done just put you into your class. i think the above poster has it right, vince problaby killed the guy in exterior points, but the other guy probalby got more points for engine and other parts that just added up to take the win.
vince im glad your deciding on keeping the car, my suggestion is dont go wild and redo everything youve just done. leave the exterior and interior alone and concentrate on the things your car is lacking, like big brakes to match those big as wheels. some motror work and engine work to get that up to par with the rest of the car. i think if you did those two things you'd notice more firsts instead of seconds.and dont do so much to it that its not done till the middle of summer. just do things a little at a time so you can just drive the car and show it next year and not worry about rushing around getting things done.
