I must have had resized a lot of them a while ago and did not make all of them small. but let me know what you think or if you want any more pics of anything else.
Well its a weekend, im bored. so i figured i would post some of the new pictures my friend and i just took along with where the car came from...
This is the night i brought the car home... Razzi body kit, vinyl on the side, and 42,000 miles in June 2006.
then removed the vinyl, put on my pro street coilovers and my wheels off my old cav
got the rest of the mouldings off and got the car all waxed up. also i removed the rear emblem.
picked up a rk sport intake and a weapon r 4-2-1 header.

got the car back out the next year did not do much to it until i went to the bash and like a ton of others my car was damaged. this is how it looked at the end of the first day i dropped it off.
i liked this color. this was only one coat and i thought they had the color wrong at first
got it back. all redone with GM Xtreme Tuner body kit. and the hood painted as well.
Then my car was voted into the calendar and i hounded darkstars to get me some pictures. so he did.
put the car away for the winter with some new intentions for the car...
BOOST
Tial 50mm Polished BOV
Garrett T3/T4 57trim, .63 a/r exhaust housing w/ stage 3 wheel
Jet 2000 coated hot side and manifold.
THANKS TO KARO AT ALLECOTEC.COM for getting my car running by supplying me with the parts i needed.
this is my future winter project...
also got a nice clean perfect toyota liner
new back end before getting the exhaust done, picked up a set of toyo tails.
exhaust all done. 2.5" Full mandrel bends, stainless, dynomax super turbo muffler and thrush 28" resonator.
here are some pics we just took recently and my friend did an excellent job taking them. i have all of these pictures in high res as well.
and my friend who took the pics subaru. its a limited, i believe #178 of 200.
now my car sits with 95,000 miles on it probably getting a new motor and trans in the winter if anyone knows of one...
let me know what you guys think. and again i have all thise pics in high res if needed
Nice!! Are you going to build this motor also???
Cavy looks sweet.......evolution of it was definitely for the better......the STi Limited is 178 out of 800.......I know cuz my wife has one fo the Limiteds in that same color
no plans to build the motor as of now. just stock replacement. no point in building the motor. $5000 into a motor will get me nowhere in life except debt and worse gas milage. so plans are for stock.
but it def came a long way haha.
and like i said, cant remember the exact # of his but it is very nice haha
LMAO, i like how you've dumped thousands into it yet you wont do a mild build up to insure fun for years to come with boost on an engine and its 'not going to get you anywhere in life' lol has anything you've done to the car so far go you anywhere except into debt? :p
you know ive always been a fan. i still like the way you mounted the front plate back when you had the razzi kit. one of the few front plate mountings that looks decent.
car has come a long ways, you should be proud. dont loose faith man, i can understand you not liking modding anymore because of the cost and things but really, the car is pretty much done. all it really needs is a built engine IMO.

Hell I wouldn't even replace the engine. Nothings wrong with the one you have, I would just rebuild it. Although I would throw in some diamond pistons, inexpensive for being forged and you'll never have to worry about the ring lands, as long as your leaving power levels alone don't even bother with the rods.
is that a kid named Squid's subie
my girl is a friend of his and noticed it
your car looks good as always
as far as a built motor goes... i just dont see the point. i did what i did so far just to enjoy it. now im realizing i want to start looking at a house. i contemplated selling it in the spring and getting something nice and comfortable but i will never get my money out of this car. i still owe on this one and trade in will be shot. plus any newer nicer car would be expensive. as far as building it goes... whats the point? its running fine as is. im happy with the boost level. the only reason i would build the motor if i wanted to run higher boost. im ok with a mid 13 second cavalier. i know that the almost $10,000 i have probably put into it has got me nowhere. but another $5000 is something that i could find better places to spend it... im looking at the long run. the car is fun as hell how it is.
and come to think of it, i never really thought about rebuilding this one. thats not a bad idea though. i had always thought of just dropping in a motor just for the simple plain and easy part of doing it. i know for sure i need a new trans. 5th gear synchro is going on it and its just that everyone i talk to says im better off just replacing it than having it rebuilt. one thing is i need a new clutch soon im sure. no its not slipping yet. but it has almost 100,000 miles on it and i figure if im pulling the motor out, i may as well do it. im going to do a stock replacement is all. no need for me to spend $600 on a clutch and not have it feel like it does now. it holds all my power just fine. i like it being driveable with out having to guess where its engaging or have to fight the pedal all the time. im thinking a rebuild is in order for the motor instead now. i just dont know where to start with it. im sure i should do the timing chain and tensioner while im in there and i guess pistons wouldnt be too bad of an idea as long as they are pretty much stock compression ratio.
and yeah actually his name is squid haha, real nice car. id have one if they were not so damn expensive haha
thanks everyone for the comments. lots of time and money into the car for sure.
grab some new oil pump gears, timing chains and guides, balance shaft bearings, water pump, machine shop will order rod and main bearings once everything is gone over and machined, grab some 20 over pistons (they will come with rings) and head gasket and that's about it, I wouldn't worry about the head to much, that's a relatively easy swap to do later on if need be. I know everyone is all about DIY but @!#$ that, give it all to the machine shop/engine builder and let them do what they do. drop it off complete and pick it up complete, that way all the liability is in one place (on them) if something does happen with it.
jesus haha sounds like a motor build haha. but in all essence i may as well do it now. 100,000 is not a TON of miles on it but im thinking some of the rings are starting to go. it has about 10,000 hard boosted miles on it. im not really worried about the head at all. i know ill probably have to get some new ARP head studs which im not worried about.
if i ever did anything to the motor it would be cams but from what i hear quite a bit of gas mileage is lost... plus to be honest, im happy with the car as it is. its not insanely fast that makes me feel the need to race anyone and everyone. and i dont want it super fast and make me feel cocky at all. its a mid 13 second car. it is what it is. and i can say its on stock motor. damn lol if i do 20 over pistons haha then i cant say stock motor haha.
i know there are a lot of things i can and will do myself. but some stuff, i leave it to the progessionals. i can weld, yes, but i would rather have had the professional do my charge pipes instead of me screwing it up. same with exhaust. he did a PHENOMENAL job on it and only cut each piece of pipe once. never went back and had to trim it at all. got all the angles perfect and everything. thats his job, he did a way better job than i ever could have. same goes for the motor shop. i dont feel confident enough to do it myself. i was talking to a fellow org memeber tonight and he said he was miserable after he built his motor. worrying about every time he started the car something could go wrong... i dont want that. i want to have confidence in the shop building it and trust them to build me a reliable motor.
any special brands for the internals to look at? i hear clevite a lot for bearings, ive heard many names and options for pistons, but i want quality but nothing super special. is there a specific place to order most of that stuff short of the gmpartsdirect and local auto store?
and ryan, expect your ass to be down here helping me out this time haha. ill take mondays off
im thinking of this as a spring project... not a winter one haha
i dont see how buying a set of forged pistons, eagle rods, new stock bearings and cleaning everything up along with new gaskets and a valve job would cost anywhere near $5000
unless of course you and your dad wouldn't be building and putting it in? which i highly doubt.

because i would do it like i did my turbo kit. i would do it all right and do it all right the first time. i would get the block done, change compression, rods, cams, port polish head, valve train, oil pump gears, crank if i could find one, im just really content and happy with how the car is now. it performs VERY well in my eyes and i dont need anything more. i enjoy driving the car how it sits.
its just not necessary. im looking ahead... if i want to do it down the road, the option is always there. for now im just going to do the basics and keep it how it is.
im thankful for all the comments. but if i built the motor, all it will get me is some ooh's and aah's. again im thankful for the comments but ooh's and aah's dont put gas in the tank or get me any more money that saving the cash instead of building the motor would. the only people that would recognize the built motor would be j people. with the built motor all i would get is worse gas mileage, out some money for building it, and the worry that something could go wrong instantly on a new built motor.

anything else you can think of while i have it apart? what about valve train? i plan to get the car to stick at 9 psi once i get my wastegate figured out. would it be better to get the rods now as a just in case? since its one of the main pieces that fail? anything else you can think of? 100K miles on stock fuel pump... replace? i did my fuel filter at 50K and will probably do it again after i run it a week or so after winter is over. anyone think of anything else to do?

i can.............. boost controller...
hahah u hate me
Two quick ??s one what happened that u had to do all that sanding to the body?? and two where did u get the clips to hold the liner in place?

no need, wastegate is doing it all by itself
ill hit 6.5, then 10, then 13, then 10, then 9, then 6.5 i think i need a new wastegate.
as for the bodywork, it got hit by a storm out at the bash, that and i was so low i messed up the body kit pretty bad. as for the clips, they are off a VW, ryan would be able to tell you. they fit really tight and dont come out
fit perfectly.
so far on the list is:
wiseco pistons 20 over
eagle rods
new stock oil pump gears
new balance shaft bearings
new water pump
new timing chain and guids and other chains
new stock clutch
new trans (5th gear grinds)
new head gasket
main goal is just to freshen the motor. not building it. just freshening it up some for more abuse
nevermind, question already answered

ha ha that you did.
and thanks.
i did get some prices on pistons, i may just go with the weiseco's anyway and not sure on the rods. maybe eagle, maybe not...
Car looks good as always, and it has grown up

thanks. aaron told me about all of the plans for yours and the whole ordeal haha. if my brother cant make my headlights work, they are coming to you haha.
