Here is what I just put in my trunk. A JL Audio 12w7 in the High Output box. If it was any bigger it would not have fit! I'm going to be running it with a JL 1000/1 mono amp with a Kinetik 800 battery in the trunk.
What do you guys think about my install so far and how do you think it will sound? Give it all to me, good and bad. You can also see more pics of my '05 Cavy on my cardomain site

looks nice, post a vid when it's done so that we can hear what it sounds like!
ick, subs recorded into videos dont give ANY idea on how they sound. they always sound terrible lol...
definitely looks good the HO box matches your paint pretty well. I really think you are going to love it. W7's have never disapointed me. The sound fantastic
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

Yeah, I was real happy with my 13w7 in the sealed prowedge until it went "THUD". I was just gonna replace the sub, but I always liked the HO box but was afraid it wouldn't fit. Also, I wanted to get away from the sealed enclosure and this was the way to do it. I was almost right 'bout it not fitting but after removing the back seats and a little (more like a lot of) motivation, it went in.
Went to the local Car Toys to do a sound test on it. I was hitting between 146 and 149 db! Holy s*#$, a lot more than I was expecting.
meh IMO w7's are overrated.
im sure it sounds good but not worth all the hub bub.
That looks really nice Jubal. The Trunk/Spoiler look awesome on the car as well, good job bro!

What meter and where was the sensor placed? were you windows up or down? door open?
Thanks Joey. The paint matched great, just had to paint the underside red, lol.

I'm not exactly sure what meter it was but it was placed on the front dash with both doors up.

just as a refrence so you know. there can be up to a 10 db diffrence depending on the type of meter itself and also things like doors open or closed and mic location can also play a large factor.

I hope you upgraded your electrical system and used 1/0 awg because if you didnt your gonna wish you did lol
I upgraded a long time ago when I had my 13w7. I'm running 1/0 awg throughout with optima yellow top under the hood and kinetik 800 in the trunk. About to do the BIG 3.
very nice not too many people know that you should ALWAYS start with the electrical part of the sound system first
and your alt.?
That's the one thing that's still stock. Is a higher amp alt available for the eco? I looked a while back and gave up.
not needed no... .but, if done then you will never have to worry about your electrical
no such thing as overkill
Went to a car show today in Humble, Tx and competed in the sound competition. I placed 2nd with
143.6 db (meter on front window close to dash and all window/doors closed). The guy that beat me had 6 12's in a Scion xb and hit a 144.4 db, .8 db difference
