Awesome!!!
Love it!
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
Very nice. what do you have done for traction mods/tires?

Congrats man. Does that make you the first known roots supercharged J in the 12's?
JL audio everything is in my mods life. For traction i have BF goodrich drag radials and the quaife diff probably helps a bit.
Fscav, for a J-body I think so but on I looked earlier on cobalt SS.net their fastest date with the M62 is really close to mine:
1.)DWK5150,12.84@110.53 w/2.04 60',I/PB/DP/E/2.5"/HE/T/DR's
The abbreviations are: Intake, ported blower, dual pass intercooler, exhaust, 2.5" s/c pulley, heat exchanger for the intercooler, Tuned, drag radials.
I only beat him by .01 but my traps are a little higher and there's still some more bugs to be worked out. So I anticipate the times will drop more later in the season or next year.

Now for my super noob question... yeah this is really going to make me sound like a noob lol....
BUT, I know for my car(mustang) and all RWD cars exactly what i need to do. I can launch, get traction, not spin 1 bit, and pull decent 60' times... EVERY video I ever see of a FWD car drag racing, it seems like they spin or hop at least a little bit. Is there a way to get that solid no BS launch that a RWD can get so easily? I only ask because you pulled awesome times with 60' times that could easily be better than that, and are running DR's. I just don't see 90% of the suspension/traction parts that RWD cars can easily get being able to work for FWD, so I gotta ask how you fast running, high powered FWD drag racers get a better 60' than 2.0? I never see it done lol.

Well keep in mind weight transfer is working against us but works for the rwd guys. When you launch a car the weight transfers to the back, for us that takes weight off the front tires while it places more weight on a rwd cars back wheels. As you can see there are no timing boards at this track. It's not the best place in the world by any means but it's nice because you can get several runs in without waiting in staging lanes all day. Here they don't allow fwd cars in the water box so i can't warm up my drag radials so that kinda sucks. Secondly the track prep is null. I can pull better 60fts at a track like Milan, usually 1.9's which would probably drop me in the 12.6 range. I'll go to a better track sometime soon and see how the car does again.

WHY wouldn't they let a FWD car in the water box? You mod and tune your car the same, you probably have more horsepower than some of the RWD cars there, AND you are running tires that will do better when warm... WOW, you need to hit a real track ASAP lol. Even my back woods 1/8 mile track does VHT and anyone can warm in the water box. It's a shame that a hick ass ex-landing strip in the woods has better prep and organization than some of the tracks some of you guys seem to be racing at.. They need to shut down lol.
But as far as weight transfer, yeah. It will always be in favor of a RWD car. But I kind of wonder if you could play with tire pressure and get the tires warmed up a bit, if it would eliminate all the hop/spin? It seems like you literally NEED to save up and get full out slicks just for a FWD car with 200hp to hook up at a drag strip. WTF do I know though lol..
Sorry to somewhat "jack" your thread about running 12s and asking a bunch of questions and ranting lol.

AMAZING man ! Congrats !
My Cav
I give up...
i'm buying a VW those people love trees, so they should love eachother too... "Andy"
You did a damn good job. A better 60' time and youll see mid 12's easy. Congrats on getting a roots sc'd j-body into the 12's, now spray it and hit 11's

this track is in a little back woods hick town. Most of teh guys there seem to look down on us when e show up at the track. They do minimal track prep that gets worse as the end of the season nears. Its a great track to get a lot of runs in and learn a few things about teh car though. I think my best 60' there was a 2.1 and that was on RSA's.
That is SICK bro!! I can't wait to see more times.

I wouldn't say its common but its not unheard of. With RWD you pull around and back into the water pit just enough to get the rear tires in, with FWD you have to drive completely through the water pit so you end u tracking and dripping water all over the start of the track.
Anyways, awesome times, I'm impressed.
ECO love!! Super wicked dude!! Really makes me want to think again about charging my car :p

Awesome Jon! Glad that you finally have her up and running. I hope to see it run a few autocrosses next year.
As for this track. I hate this track. The parking lot is all gravel, the track is cracked and bumpy, the timing equipment sucks, and it is expensive to race there to boot. However it is a close place to get alot of runs in. As for not letting fwd cars into the water box, its not so much that we aren't allowed, its that we literaly cant get to it. You have to pull around it, then back into it. However, there is a small barrier behind it preventing a fwd car's front tires from even being able get into the water box.
