well I was heading out yesterday morning and I decided that I would see how good of photo's the cell can do,
that and I can show off the rims that I painted for the MP5.
I will admit that my rims look like crap(on the cav), but I don't really care right now, I do have plans to paint the actual rim all black too not just the C-caps.

the rear tires get very close to the fender because the wheel sits out 10mm more than the factory offset. At the closest spot I have about 5 mm before the tire rubs on the fender but I am not too worried about it as I had 3 big guys hopping up and down in the hatch to push the back down(about 550 pounds), and that almost bottomed it out, and it didn't hit anything.
I am not completely happy with how the paint turned out as it is a little bumpy and chips easily, but I didn't put any clear coat on either as I wasn't happy and will repaint them when it is not 0 degrees celsius(32 degrees fahrenheit) or colder outside.
I was kinda rushed to get them done as the snow is starting to fly and I wanted them to have lots of time too set up before I mounted the tires
Oh, and the rims are a 15x6.5 with a 40 offset.
the factory wheels are 16x6 or 6.5 with 50 offset
I think that the MP5 looks tits with the black wheels on (and is a very fun car to drive).

and thinking of stuff I do when I gat bored,
I decided it would be a good idea to try and put one of the spare donuts I have from a cav(115/70r14) onto an 8 inch wheel, I managed to get it to air up(tried to get it all the way, but when I hit 130 psi, I thought that it may not be a good idea), but it was getting stuck on a lip on the wheel, so I ground it off and will try again later this week,
this all got started with one of my buds wo is looking to get some 15x8's and put a 195/50 or 195/45 tire on it for his VW jetta, to get the stretched look, so I thought that I would go a step farther for fun.
but here is a little pic that I took of what I managed to get it to do so far.
A bunch of the guys and I got a good laugh that it would actually air up.
I used a few planks of plywood, a nylon strap with a hook on one end and a bead blaster(air tank with a big valve that forces air into the tire to seat the bead)

and this is just the winter wheels too.
Thats an 02 MP5. There is no such thing as an 01 MP5

not diggin the protege wheels. black wheels with a polished lip would look better IMO. heres a kickass one that's in my area. (cell phone pic)

yes I was very bored with the donut on the rim, I don't think it is going to work though, just a little too wide for it, I have a 14x7 that it will fit on I think, I will try that next week.
As for having a polished lip I think that may be the plan for summer wheels for it, but the design of the wheels does not lead itself to the polished lip.
that and it would have been a huge pain in the but to do it that way.
besides they are only winter wheels.
I like them better than a ill fitting steel wheel that does not sit on the hub very well.
those indy beretta wheels on the cav????

nope, just a set of z24 rims off a 92 cav.
the caps were very corroded so they needed to be painted.
