So I took a wire brush to my newish stock Isuzu tranny and Cleaned it up and Painted it Black. Also Installed a Brand new Slave Cylinder (busted 4 used ones in a year, sick of it) and then Picked up A Lightly used 6-puck SPEC Stage 2 Clutch and PP from GManZ24 on the fourms. I plan to go with the Stock Flywheel for now, I am scared of the Fidanza from horror storys and Cant wait on another one.
Car is in the bodyshop getting the 1/4 Panel pulled out from where the cop hit me, then This weekend I will be installing the new tranny and Clutch, Then its off to get new replacement Rear Brake hardlines and Fuel lines(Rusted out)
So a Few questions.... Car gets out of the body shop Friday as long as all goes well. I plan to Install the new tranny Friday night.
I have pulled the engine when I installed the last tranny, But now I would like not to. I know I can trim the Subframe Brace to help out but do you have any other suggestions to get this sucker in a little easier?
Also, Syncromesh I know, But how much do I need? My Haynes is in the car at the bodyshop so I cant check right now.
And With the pics of the 4th Slave Cylinder, This one is not busted but i don't want to risk blowing ANOTHER one, So Im installing a new one.
So this is the THIRD Isuzu in the car in the Year I have owned it, and 5th Slave Cylinder!
Also Pics of my new doors(stock ones are rusted out worse than anything)! Also Installed a new gas tank(old one rusted out and had a hole punched in it. Replacing the new tires too as my front end alignment was out and I just finally got the Overkill Mounts, unfortunately too late for the tires So I'm ordering another set next week.
I will post pics of the car Friday when I get it back from the body shop!
that trans looks awesome... i shoulda done that with mine when i had it out for the clutch... nice work... cant wait to see it all done... good luck

I NEED a 97-99 LD9 engine harness for an auto.PM if u hav info.!!

It was about a 2" Solid Lip incline where they ground out the old pavement, I hit it head on at 45MPH in the dark. Rims are fine but Front tires are goners. Gotta replace them anyway because the Crap stock Easystreet upper mounts caused horrible camber-wear in less than 1k miles. I have the new OEM mounts now and I will get a Proper TOE and Camber Alignment finally when I get the new tires.
holy crap! ive had to deal with that uneven pavement before and it sucks. ill pretty much stop on the hwy if i have to to get up those things, they suck. sorry to hear man. and thats nuts how ur tires look after 1k wow.
i want a 95-99z sooo bad because of your car lol...
Damn look at the tread of those tires already

Sux about the tires... and after only 1K... WOW.
Sorry to hear that bro!
FOR SALE
damn that sucks man. i had about that same kinda wear on mine after only a month of driving. barely even 1k also. my camber and toe was off.it was aweful.
I NEED a 97-99 LD9 engine harness for an auto.PM if u hav info.!!
Eh O well...Maybe Ill burn them down for a video wit the new tranny and Clutch before I swap in the new tires.
do you drive the car slammed all the time or something? or just not get an alignment after you did some suspension work?
I'm tired of wasting my time... now I'm breakin' free.
Never got the Alignment. See the Stock Easystreet mounts were POS and Moved around throwing my camber off randomly 5-10* So OEM and I worked up some custom replacements(Now F/S in the GB Fourm). I Had to install these before getting the alignment, Unfortunately it was too late. I ride about this high:
Just ordered the new tires... Place gave me a small discount for hard luck.. Should be here Monday... Tire shop is going to HATE me....
MIGHT get the car back tomorrow, If so the Tranny will be going in as SOON as I get off of work. Cant wait!
Just got the car back from the bodyshop...It turned out OK, Bill was $700 even. Im not 100% satisfied....
Problems:
The FORGOT to shave the antenna...WTF!??!
They did not Remove the side molding to paint, They painted over it so now shaving the side molding is out of the question....
They also did not remove my vinyl inserts on the Z-24 Molding, they just painted over them... So now if I remove them They will damage the paint...
Overall the Bodywork and Repair looks great. No signs of the Fuel lid location, so thats well. They also Fully welded the panel in(or so they say) so I should ave no Cracking issues... Paint is great too...Makes the rest of the car look bad. Going to install my new tranny Tomorrow and new front tires Tuesday.
Why not just swap to a Getrag Trans ?
Because the Tranny, Slave, and Clutch are all Isuzu...But if this one fries...Thats whats im swapping to....
Great job on the body work. Too bad they forgot the things you told them to do. Really glad you now have to keep the moldings on !!!! Sorry I just love 95-99 Z's with them. Thought you were getting the new doors on too?
Proud member since 99
Damn that sucks that they didn't listen or maybe remember.
Looks really good,
but they did 'shave' your antenna:p
I have a problem with a 00-02 boot too.. new boot from GM costs $70. the shaved gas door looks good.
