Well I have Collins car until May 7th. There were some issues that needed to get addressed aswell as some exterior stuff that he wants done. I also need to repaint the engine bay and upper intake manifold.
I fixed the charging issue with a new alternator and feed line from the starter to the alternator. I am probably going to get the Red top replaced under warranty aswell.
I havent gotten any of the touch ups done yet. I was going to today, but it rained like hell. So I did this
This was the cluster on my way home from Ottawa last night.
And this was tonight. Yes, the car is running.
This was done simply because I HATE dash warning lights.
And just for the hell of it, a picture infront of the parliment buildings from my trip to Ottawa this weekend.
I am going to start on the exterior stuff tomorrow. I will post pics once its done. I hope to have it done by the west opener this saturday.
It's come a long way and looking good!

Thanx guys.
Was pretty easy to do, take the cluster apart and remove the LED's for the lights. Just to clarify though, I didnt remove the High beam and engine light ones, I actually repaired the problem with those. God I love HPT! lol
So some updates for now.
This stuff should be painted and installed tomorrow
After 1 layer of primer.
Did I mention that I HATE working with fiberglass???
Updates tomorrow.
Painted and installed. Couple things first though.
1. These are aftermarket knock offs that arent very good, so fitment and finish seems to be a big issue with them.
2. Im definately no body man, I will be the first to admit it. Collin and I both know it. These are on until next year or so when Collin is getting the whole car resprayed.
3. They are painted black because Collins car isnt a stock colour and matching it would be hard without taking it to shop and paying their rates. I think they look good like this anyways.
4. The car is still filthy from the construction site this past weekend. I will be cleaning it up for the west opener on Saturday.
5. My camera SUX ASS!!!! lol
Enjoy.
Diggin the front lip. (rk sport?)
Like the color of the car too.
Very nice car.
I saw the first cluster picture and I was going to scold you for speeding that much. Then it hit me. Duh kmph. Idiot me.
maybe you should paint the lip of the back bumper black as well...
it might look very good and complete the look...

I might end up doing that, we will see if I get a chance. I still havent touched the engine bay and he is picking the car up on Thursday.

Technic. GM made a one off concept car with it, and the original has made its rounds, only a handful (20-ish maybe?) of recreations have been made
And dude, I'm so jealous of this car XD I want your lip and engine! Might I suggest an 00-02 LSS rear and paint the lip black to match?

yeah i will be getting that bumper i just have to come up with fund to get the car painted again but i was thinking about painting the rear lip on the 95-99 bumper black to match a little or i was thinking about a quick fix aznd seeing about the home depo lip for the rear, 20 bucks cant go wrong lol might be a good temporary fix
Well yesterday, the car started making a ridiculous noise from the transmission area, it would mostly go away when the clutch was engaged, but not fully. It was getting worse and worse. I thought the problem was one of 2 things. Either a bad throwout bearing or a spring had fallen out of the Spec clutch. Turns out that it was neither. The bolt holes on the 8000km Fidanza flywheel ovaled out. They are now egg shaped. So the car needs a new flywheel. We had to put it back together for now because I couldnt tie up the hoist at Robs shop. I will talk to Colin when he gets back inthe morning and see what we are going to do.
Couple pics I snapped.
Tranny out, clutch and flywheel removed.
Fidanza Flywheel.
Closeup of the bolt holes.
I do have a little surprise for Colin though...
Subframe before.
After.
Back together for now.
I wonder what the deal with the fidanza flywheel is...... this isnt the first failure ive read about on the board. On the Ford Contour forum everyone uses a fidanza flywheel and I've never heard of a single failure. My old 99 Svt Contour had a fidanza on for 20K without any problems.
I love this car. I can't wait to see it after getting painted. That 3400 swap is sexay.
damn man i hope my fidanza doesnt do that.... wow... good luck with it....
very nice, needs a 03-05 LS Sport/Z24 rear bumper and that would finish up the kit.

Yes it is. We installed a machined stock flywheel last night.
Colin gets his car back tomorrow.
