As the title states the DD z24 got a little bit of love. This love comes in the form of 16 x 7.5" Eagle wheels that I used to have on my GT back when I was 16! I just got the wheels themselves back through some trading with my dad, and for tires I just had the tires from my stock z24 wheels mounted up.
I did it almost 100% to get the extra inch of wheel on both sides of the car, at least that was my initial motive.
The tires I had worked extremely well, but a 225/50-16 on a 6.5" wide wheel is balloon tire city and it kind of screws with handling - at least at the limit of the tire. You can see the ballooniness above.
After I got them on the car I was pretty happy with how it looked too, I knew it would be an improvement over stock but I'm actually really fond of how they look. I've always thought this to be somewhat of a timeless design, though it has grown semi-dated in my opinion.
On with the show!
Rear pic for lack of ballooniness reference point and a showcase of the napped out rear tint. It just needs me to get in there and finish pealing it out... what a suckass job.
On this next pic you can see my sweet DD elite weight reduction beginning below the filler door.

At this point I really only want to get the car lowered and get a decent tune on it. The tune needs to come first, I am really ##### tired of how
ty the car runs sometimes - especially if I don't have or can't afford to put 93 octane in it to feed the bumped compression. With a good tune I shouldn't need the expensive gas.
Lastly, while I was back at home to swap these on and be rid of my 195mm wide winter edition pizza cutters I took a few photos of my wheels and tires for the GT that are all mounted and balanced - and waiting for the car to be aligned. I'll let these speak for themselves.
I can't wait to get this car fully drivable for this summer. The only other hold up will be trying to get a garage at my apartment. No garage = No Beretta.

Not gonna lie to you, I have always liked the stock 95-99 Z rims. There is just something about them that is very appealing.
Nice tires for the GT btw
I agree completely, I just wish they were wider. Even if they were 7" I'd be happy.
Oh well, just gotta work with that I got. Kinda like kickin it 01/02 style up in here. If I had a time machine I could go back to then and be cream of the crop.
LOL
I swapped to Beretta GTZ wheels which were 7 inches wide.
I still have them actually, might rock em on the DD Sunfire this year.
omg your from iowa?
what a tool.
I'm tired of wasting my time... now I'm breakin' free.

Yeah, I can only imagine life in Nebraska. Little house on the prairie anyone?
